    INTRODUCTION

I’m about to take you, the reader on a brief tour through a time as it was in the exciting life known as the game.

There’s no doubt in my mind that I’ll have to write other books that cap on the many episodes that have taken place in the game I’m married to.

At an early age with eggs being thrown at me and my brother on separate occasions by white males, I realized the slave name I had reflected bad history.

With that name not being to my taste, I grew into none other than Pimpin Gypsy a.k.a. SUCCESS, and now today, SUCCESS for the record.

I’ve done it from the golden states to the frozen states. Yes I’m mackin and my game isn’t slackin as you’ll see while reading throughout this book.

My love goes out to the Players’, Hustlers’, Pimps’ and many Vics that laced my pockets, socks and stash spots alike.

I was a gangster before I was a Player and as a matter of fact, I’m in my prime.

To all those that have passed, rest in peace.

To any and all haters’ this book is fiction so save your friction, or cure your addiction.

    OPENING COMMENTS

This book will bring readers knowledge, surprise, and suspense and excite readers of adventure as silencers and gangsters come full circle in the mix. You will experience a fascinating personality in a man torn between Pimp, Player and what you may call ruthless as well. That ruthless act is called survival in the game or just being a man living in the United States.

This book breaks down a lot of controversies from pimpdom to whoredom, as the game is ruled, cheating, fair game or master pimping. In the Pimp game, a whore comes going. How much you get out of her is on you. Take note and don’t end up with just your coat.

This book is fiction based on facts, loose lips sink ships. Any coincidence is just that, coincidental, I’m speaking of names and events. I have retired the life and can speak as a pioneer, not a settler who’s unable to speak on the golden states and the frozen states. I’m now ready to take you on one in a stream of Success books.

This is the first by C. SUCCESS DAVIS.

    DEDICATIONS

My dedication is to non-other than Sidewalk University where I graduated with an honor roll and bank roll. I thank the many vics and tricks that paved the way. I give respect to all those teachers I’ve learned from by watching or sharing knowledge.

To: Frank, with the murder dubs sign on his back, Stay up and come home Hommie.

Notes: To Pimpin’ Carlos from the doves, I dedicate this to you.

The Whitefolks in this book is not the one who gave you up Pimpin’. You’re family, so stay strong. I just found out in 2010.

    WORDS OF WISDOM

    MR. SUCCESS,

Pimpin is not an invention, it’s a job! So keep yo pimpin, pimppin. Pimpin at all times. Because at the end of the Rainbow you’ll be fully rewarded for all your pains and struggles.

    Sincerely,

    Nock-Nock

    OUT THE WOMB

Out the gate of the womb I was brought forth, named and foot-printed, no doubt about it. It’s the law of the land isn’t it?

I’m just chillin’ thinking to myself as I realize that, being a child in a family of six that I wanted more than my share of what my father could give me as one of six."

I paused and made the five ball in the corner pocket.

"I actually was arrested and missed the event where you walked across the stage in the sixth grade at Manzanita.

I had beat up a white boy at Roosevelt Jr. High and missed that one too. At Fremont High I went there to just cut and shoot bad dice in between bus rides we took playing 3 card mollie." I paused and continued.

"I was still on east 23rd street in Oakland under my fathers roof. Yeah I was playing the report card closely trying to at least show I made it to school. My friend Butch, had a thick hoe named Angela, and that within itself made me want a hoe also.

Moms passed away when I was in the fifth grade so since she was my main squeeze I thought maybe in my pimpin’ heart that all women was suppose to treat me right ya dig? I scanned the room before I shot at the six-ball. I cued the privately owned pool stick of mine prior to a pose, a stare, and I made the six ball in the side pocket. I missed the bank on the seven ball. I walked to the stool close by and said, I got my first hoe dollar in 1974 Silky, when I got pissed off at my girl, and walked off. When I seen her again she handed me money. This bugged me until I got mad behind a made up story I thought of to see if this would happen again. It did so I pocketed the money and asked her where did it come from. She said, a date.

Every since that day I choose to pimp for real. I mean it wasn’t no getting mad. I’d send her and she moved in with me before we shortly went to Stocton, and Sacramento where I realized a time, or two when I hid in the closet while she turned a trick after an unsuspected knock on the door." I paused and began again to speak again.

"I knew it was a better way to pimp and I’d find it, why because I suck up game like a new sponge sucking water.

I needed more money, and I always didn’t get it as I shook red card in the downtown areas by myself on the regular."

I watched the 7 ball sink before the eight did the same. Silky missed the nine, and I raised from the black leather stool to rechalk my stick before I shot at the game ball with the sharpness of a professional pool shooter. I did imagine me being one for that moment. I mean please, it’s a shot that can be missed if a person misque, you feel me? Well I made it praying like a bandit through an intersection in a high speed chase with the lights of the patrol cars screaming behind him flashing red, white and blue lights to hopefully put fear in him. That way he’ll wreak and make the arrest eazy.

I picked up the money and unscrewed my stick. I then got a high five, or two from viewers and looked around the joint for any females looking my way. Silky I just had a vision about the red, white and blue police car lights. I paused and said, those red, white and blue lights remind me of the flag and a red neck white man with blue eyes carrying it. What the heck, let me go and find me a blue eyed white girl and send her in a red mini skirt to get me some paper!

That sounds like a winner Silky said after he smiled. I can use some myself. Let’s pull out of here!

Silky and I walked toward the door and paused before our exit out as we normally do. Silky said, It looks clear to me. He paused until we sat down and said, when did you leave the name Clayton? Oh! It was very quickly around 1972 when the name of the game was the Gypsy twist, the red you win, the black you miss. Yeah I played those tops also ya dig? I dig Silky replied. I also seen the top and ball collect a grip quickly by this guy who appeared to be making mistakes as he shuffled the tops around during the belting! I replied and said what were you doing Silky while this open betting was going on, waiting to lay a bet? Hell no, my name is Silky, not mark! Right on I replied as I started the car up that dazzled on lookers as it sat detailed up in the Raiders colors, silver bodied, gray interior with a phantom top. It was a four door, not a two door sitting on that mustard and mayonnaise." Silky this was seen and purchased Dec. 18th 1978 off of George Olson Cadillac show room floor in San Francisco on Vanness. It’s a ‘79 so I was riding the future.

It was a white couple looking at it also and mentioned getting it for Christmas. I had other plans you dig. I used to ride with Osenal in his grey ‘75 Cadillac brougham and looked forward to the day my turn would come." I popped my collar.

"Olsenal had a ‘75 brougham with one stable of white girls and one had a rich regular. Yeah that ‘75 was when those square lights came out and added that extra look on those pimp mobils.

Gangster Brown had a burgundy ‘78 brougham later on. G.O. later had that ‘78 Eldorado, I replied as I looked Silkys way. My friend Boots had a brown ‘75 Cadillac and Shaky, King and myself turned out Boots to the long con on the way to Denver, Colorado in that Cadillac. By the time we hit Denver, and after being snowed in we broke luck and headed up north from Denver to Seattle. I paused.

"I was ready to go then. I broke from the group and flew to Alaska where I soloed the game until I pimped at my first eskimo hoe.

I knocked her for the choosing fee and we flew out. I then flew back and knocked her friend. I got turned out to the long con by Terrell out of Texas between 74s end and ‘75. I was his celli in San Diego jail when I had a red card beef. My money was conviscated so I had to play to have anything. I politely got those nines in those pinochle decks that aren’t never used by pinochle players since the game requires the tens on up to the aces. Well I shook red card and didn’t look back; I replied with a smile. My cellie was fasinated and mentioned how the three cards were used in Texas with a long con game I was dying for. I agreed to trade games. We did as I was doing dead time awaiting this hearing where this trick said I took her diamond ring. I shook red card on my attorney and said this is what happened. Well I got out on probation a happy man and I headed to a mark first and the airport second. I never seen Terrell on the bricks to thank Player style. By the way I’m ‘5.10 dark complected, brown eyes with a high pro glo, hair freshly done, white dazzling smile, handsome with a vee shaped goat tee. My conversation is keen and I’m well dressed due to tailored clothes.

Silky is boarder line slim, brown eyes, quick thinking and ‘5.9" in hieght.

As we rode Silky took it all in. Silky’s pager went off and he peeped the numbers and said, yeah it’s money out here tonight!

I said, You’ve got your digits of the trap hitting your pager huh? Silky said, damn GYPSY you aint letting nothing pass you by.

I can’t afford to Silky and neither can you, now where’s that?

It’s in my ear for real Silky replied. We laughed and Silky reached up and primped in the mirror to view his fresh perm and his white teeth so he could be smile ready. "Say Silky you remind me of myself in a lot of ways. You love the game you got and want more. Being curious is one thing and willing to be educated is another.

How far are you willing to go Silky?"

All the way. I mean I want my hand in that piece of cash. He then admired his jewelry. By this time the cadillac was minutes from my 1979 Mercedes 450 SEL with the bambu interior and telephone I had installed for convenience the first weekend I owned it. That’s cool, Silky replied.

"To me personally the Mercedes is a much better ride as well as quieter in compairision to my three month old ‘79 Cadillac.

I had never riden in one until one day my brother Chief as excited about making a move on a nice ride so we went to his Ace coon booms house on our way to Stead Motors in Walnut Creek. His Ace coon boom was Red Walker. Yeah Red and Rick road off Stead Motors with two 450 SELS in ‘78. Ricks was blue and Reds brown. I had seen Red at the castle visiting my brother and I seen that 450 SEL looking good outside. I had met Red and knew he had that boy and girl singing group and knew some twists to go with it.

We drove to Reds and went in hi pad in the Hill Top Green town house in Richmond. We all greeted each other and my brother and I waited as Red got ready to leave. We soon left to proceed toward the garage were Reds benz was parked. We all got in and I then had my first ride in a Mercedes. Once the key was turned, the car came to life. He didn’t wait on no idling, or time period before he put it into reverse. When he did the rear of the car lifted up and he backed out. Once he did that I was sprung Johnson. He cleared the drive way and put it in drive and the rear of the car dropped.

We moved with speed and grace GOD gave an Eagle.

I couldn’t wait to see Californias largest Mercedes dealers for myself.

Once we got off the freeway he opened up the sunroof and a fresh breeze intered my nostrils. I noticed that the phone inside the car could reach all the way to the back where I was sitting comfortably upon the rear head rest that was specially installed upon request of the owner for a fee of course. This with its glamour, prestige and handling ability made my Cadillac seem like a rattlelac because of the quietness. I’ll have one today, I told myself.

We arrivied at Stead Motors and browsed for real.

I browsed upon a Rolls Royce and thought about its quietness.

I’ll have one today I told myself, but also I’ll include a Rolls later. I said, I’ll have that too if I stick to the script.

Well my brother decided on what he wanted and it showed.

I let it be known that I seen one I liked also. We all left and used the car phone to call Bill who handled the gangster contracts at George Olsens Cadillac. He was told it was two Mercedes to be brought from Stead Motors and he said okay as long as you deposit fifteen thousand dollars each. It was agreed and we let him know we were in route to pick up the secured cash. Bill agreed and we knew he could handle his end. My brother and I went to our fathers and picked up some cash we had stashed in the boat. He got out fifteen thousand of his cash and I got out twenty thousand dollars of mine. We left east Oakland for the freeway on 73rd where we’d turn right and go all the way up to the end and make that left onto the 580 freeway. Bill was alerted that we had the cash in hand and that we were on our way back to Stead Motors.

Once we were on the freeway, it seemed like Red was passing everything smoothly. I’ll have you to know that Red and I became tight even to this day. Red possesed intelligence and he gave a run down on the Mercedes he had. He smoothly spoke of the what the car had and the right mirror which is an add on as well as the chrome alloys. The schematics in relation to the schematic box in the trunk that the phone was hooked up to. This allowed him to listen to a caller give his, or her area code and number.

If it’s night he’ll work it in the day and vice versa.

Red said, GYP, how do you like it?

I said, I got to have it. Where did you get the phone hooked up? Red replied, I went to Northern Hollywood.

I said, can you show me where it’s at?

    Red replied, Yeah when?

I answered, as soon as possible.

Red replied, what about this weekend?

    I said, yeah it’s a done deal.

The ride between a car and an automobile was learned to me that day, you feel me?" Silky knodded his head.

Once again we arrived at Stead Motors, but this time not looking, but looking very much to buy. All went well once the cars was picked. It was thirty-five thousand dollars on the desk in cash on two new 450 SELS with high performance tune-ups. A right mirror, chrome alloys, rear head rests and the panther pads was added on so all that black dust won’t be getting on those chrome alloys.

While that was being done we left a mobile number to be reached in the car as well as two pager numbers.

It was time to split and flow through the creek for a bite to eat, or hit the freeway again. I called a few places on the phone and kicked back feeling me, just feeling me.

All was going well as I thought of how much the next ten days will bring.

I could actually let my main bitch Gloria take the phantom to go work the city when the San Pablo track slowed up, or got hot.

Either way she could call me when it’s green instead of paging me. I was also eager to take Lois, Diane and Gloria to the Sunset and surrounding areas. Meanwhile Pat and Verna wasn’t going to last. It seemed they required someone in a slower lane than me. Now Brittany didn’t last fourty-eight hours once she peeped that I was deep. I knocked her in the city and it ended there. There was a problem I had to get rid of at this point in my life and it would be soon to com. Now of all those I named Bonita out of Seattles Hollypark was my road star. I must admitt I made a pimps mistake with her and if I ever see her again, she’s got the respect of a seasoned pimp coming. If I had the brains I developed after her then she’d be queen bee, you dig. In fact I have been inquiring in Seattle about her and it’s time to get some serious money instead of date money under a gee a day on the average. She was my first to dress up in a nurse uniform and try to solo the pack for me. I’m in high persuit of a new prostitute so she can hand it over prior to me giving her a diamond tongue to speak from.

The bails, court dates in various places were just for part of a tricks money instead of getting his life savings on the game. I’m going to one day give them all ultimatums, because I refuse to get pecans that fall from the tree when I can get to the tree and its roots.

    READY TO ROLE

After a meal and some hours my car was ready. When I seen it from the rear, the headrest gave it the mission impossible look of the car used in the movies.

As I spoke of earlier I had a ten day goal (to set a new) plan in motion with the ultimative I had in mind. I’ll take it one day at a time and see how this here day shine. Silky and I pulled up to the Castle, which was my fathers house and got out the Phantom and into the Mercedes in tailored clothes.

At that time I was dealing with Aurthor Williams in L.A. and I kept Jack Williams busy in Oakland at his tailor shop. I was his best customer. Larry Reese and his wife worked there as in town seamstess.

Jack also had a sweat shop in Mexico which did fabulous work until they hit that latto and it was howdios, Jack.

Yeah! the Spitz family at Spitz jewlers had my picture up that I gave them for many years. I was one of there good customers also, not the best because OAKLAND is a gold mine. Yesh it’s a lot of money going around for real. I graduated from sidewalk University with an honor role and a bank role. Silky and I both were tailored and jeweled up. Between Silky and me we gave the hoes the blues as Cassanova and I did years later in a bue 1999 drop J"AG that I brought form K.K. rest in peace kev.

Say Silky we both got game and we both got work so let’s go do some pimpin. We headed for the track at an easy pace, I mean I drove like a pick pocket looking for a bulge in a pocket. In our case we needed to see a female going, or coming. I mean in, or out of a house, store, or from out of nowhere with a tricks wallet, or jewels, or something. I mean in spite of whatever pimp mobil you buy, it won’t have gas and details paid for along with up keeps at the dealership.

It’s about the money not the honey.

What’s that Silky up ahead? Silky replied lets see.

As I pulled on side of these two females which were exiting Eds Liquior Store on 23rd Ave and East 27th. Hello! How are we doing today, replied Silky as he spoke openly to both of them.

I popped out the roof and said my I have a kind word with somebody, what’s your names?

What’s your name, replied miss smarty pants.

You can call me GYPSY since you don’t know me!

She said I heard that name before somewhere, but it don’t matter I’ve got to go? she replied. I said, but don’t be so mean, my friend and yours seem to not be in a hurry. Can you give me your name at least, I mean, even a dog got a tab."

She said so you’re trying to be funny huh?

I asked you 3 different ways, and you don’t understand that you don’t have to like me a lot to give me respect and say your name. I asked your name and didn’t call you something else you dig?

She said Lisa, bye and rode out like it was a fire. I said, damn Silky what a way to get started huh?

Silky said at least you got one combination to the safe when she said her name before she sped out.

I wouldn’t be caught at nights edge trying to use that one number on a safe? We laughed.

Silky said the one with her acted like she was her guardian lover, or something. Yeah I peeped it latter, but if they’re both out of pocket so what!

I exited the parking lot and went up 27th and looked left on Wakefield to see if I saw Butch, or his nephew Cassanova. I didn’t so I proceeded to the stop sign by the park to my left.

This park brought back memories as I paused at the intersection. I said, Silky this park brings back memories man. This park has history, in these dubs for real. I’ve been here a many times along with others in the dubs like, Tricky dick, DAVE. H, Billy, T, Ceasar, Big J, and Rich Ralph with a host of others. Rest in peace Dave, Pam, Gilky, Master Charge and Will Moe. DAVE who I really miss was a PI for real. He had a lot of class and business about himself.

I made a left turn and made a left, then a right, and paused at the first corner. I said Silky that store was MR. BOBS, may he rest in peace. Mr. Bob used to wear his pistol in a holster Cowboy style, man we were tight. I turned right and left on 21st st ave and paused in between East 24th and East 23rd. I said Silky I stayed in that apartment and had a white Continental with blue interior, and a blue top when I brought the Phantom we just got out of. I had my first hoe there with me and I gave the Continental to her brother who was handling some business for me.

Across the street is that apartment complex that Cadillac brought with money from the game. Fat Foggy stayed there, and he was respected in the game as well. He drove a nice white Cadillac.

It’s track time Silky. I realize by being away, or on the road time can fly and a lot can be missed.

I made a right on East 23rd st., and another on east 19th.

I was soon on the 580 freeway, also known as the MACAuthor freeway. I took the Harrison exit as I normally do, so I can keep straight and across Broadway at MAC Author. At this point it’s hoe country all the way straight to San Pablo, with Motels to the right on every block and at Telegraph, it’s left and right to San Pablo Ave. I let the top back to feel the elements outside the car.

Silky, pulled down the sunvisor to look into the mirror. I said, reach down it’s a big mirror in that side pocket to the right of your gator shoe, you won’t miss nothing with that.

It’s work out here if you want a lazy bitch. These hoes had to be pushed off the main stream. They got on those 99 cent flip flops. These hungry pimps passing through h ere would have left the traffic blocked to the mid block if it was any potential life in those dead bodies.

Silky looked at his pager, and said I got a problem.

I said, run it down to me man, as I pulled the benz to the curb.

Silky said, this bitches money aint to my standards so I’ve mashed harder, and nothing has changed.

I said, is she possesive, or open?

Silky replied, she better be open, or a closed casket would suit her fine!

I said, it isn’t nothing better in this game, but to get rich, not black folk rich, but white folk rich, you feel me?

Yes I feel you on that on hundred percent.

I continued and said, it’s a yes, or a no with a hoe.

You’re dressing properly and you keep your tools sparkling at all times. You’re spreading your wings in this field. Now she see’s less of you and feels neglected, if you know what I mean. The next time you check any trap from her, which will be as soon as I’m through running down to you the locks you need. You tell her this is the time when she have a chance to work smarter instead of harder. It’s time for you to be madam, directly in charge of a stable. As you help me to help us, they’ll come and go, but the money stays. Bring one in as a start. Every time you see a new girl, or an unhappy one, get in her ear. Tell her all good things about me, and express your excitement to have her as your stable sister.

I’ve talked to one girl I met in Stockton, and she promised to send me her weeks take from a hoe house in Stockton. She begged me to stay, but I told her promises can be broken. I’d be in violation to leave a paying scene for a promise. I’ll know if it’s a broken promise this weekend for sure so keep your fingers crossed. If she comes through I’ll pull her out that house. I want what’s best to secure our future, so work quickly, and make a better average of money to bring in daily. Silky we’ll make sure a Western Union Money gram will come from Stockton as if she sent it, ya dig. Yeah!" Silky said with a smile, and reached for the phone, and paged his girl.

"Once she feels she got someone to compet with she’ll almost pulls a double shift, or start stealing money.

One hoe is next to none Silky so I feel you. I got your back to pimp it out, it’s the only way for us. This pimpin is bigger than our history because it goes back to the slavery days, and the torch has been passed down to us in our day so keep it lit man, keep it lit. I mean you and me both."

We both knew it was cop and blow, but a sad neglected bitch is headed for a happy home.

    No Pappy unhappy

I pulled the benz away from the curb and the car phone rang. I hoped it was Silkys game calling because I told him to leave the mobil number with his code on many occations.

Bingo—It was Silkys game and he set up a meeting spot near the 711 on Broadway when she got through at the SPA I hipped him to have his game work out of.

We cruised toward Broadway and sat where we could see anyone that came out the SPA.

It wasn’t long before his pager buzzed and he seen her code. Within a minute she walked out the door and did as Silky instructed. She heard his voice once we caught up to her, and she seen him and got in. I headed to the 711 to go in the store while Silky laid out the game I spilled to him. I parked and got out and headed for the Magazine section so I could stall some time before I go to the counter with something in hand other than what I could snatch up quickly.

I occationally glanced toward the benz to see if he was still facing her in the back seat.

I stalled for 15 minutes to be sure. Once back in the car I said you got to drive Silky while I read this curtain part of this magazine! Silky got out the passenger seat and went around to the drivers side and sat down. That was my que to do the switch.

I sat down and turned some pages pretending to read. Candy was ‘5.8", nice looking, brown eyes, bright smile, thick and nice legs.

I knew from the route we took that it was back to the stroll to drop off Candy. She was dropped off on 31st slightly before San Pablo Ave.

The vibes in the car was good as she got out. She said I love you as she departed.

I said Silky, how did the rundown go? Silky replied "I told her everything and looked for what was to come since she didn’t get upset. She was curious about what age, and race she was. I said does it matter who you train on the track to bring us home the trap money?

She said, No I was just asking, and I said see if I ask, or complain when you make a catch to add to our aid, then I smiled, and gave her a hug.

Silky I knew I didn’t have to fell you that part!"

Silky, and I laughed until we hit the corner with hoes, hoes, hoes. I was on time with that window.

    THE MONEY GRAM

I seen one I been after that I named Miss California. I said, Hi! Miss Califoria, it’s GYPSY at you as always trying to extend my hand to make you Miss America. I need a willing candedate to lead the way. Are you ready to get that attention you really deserve? Come on, and lead the way and make my day. Pick up your oppertunity then as you wish. Here’s my card. I flung 6 cards out the window. "It’s room at the top always for a star. I’m alone tonight, so do it right, I stated.

I eased in the car, and said to Silky I hope one of those many hoes pickup a card, and use it!

Silky said what you mean by you’re alone tonight, GYPSY you got hoes!

I laughed, and said, Silky I said I’ll be alone tonight, not single. I mean if she came tonight I’d be where I need to be, with a paying hoe running down my program for her to follow!

Silky said I’m digging that for real!

"Silky if it’s not your program it’s hers, believe that.

It’s a lot of hungry fed hoes out here, so that means they’ve been fed, and they can feed, so your tools got to be up to par so they can see success in their future, not a long hard struggle to only get where they’ve been you dig?"

Yeah! I see the light now lets go get something to eat unless you want to make some rounds.

"How many rounds can you make before your belly ache? Are you hungry, or in love Silky?

GYPSY I’m in love with the game, and that aint going to leave me like a hoe can so chill on that love capin’.

Candy said she love you man. I’m your friend, and I’m checking with my friend like friends do!

Silky replied "she might believe what she say, but she might, or might not produce what I’m asking of her.

Now in my belief of the game is that I’ll pimp, or die.

I won’t kill for game even though it can make life a lot easier to the point where my pick of hoes might be at a 5,000, or better limit on the choose up fee. I’m knowing it’s not many pimps out here will have they’re own game bringing them 5,000 a pop of San Pablo money I love me better than any bitch think she can.

"Now you’re talking my language Silky.

I’ll tell’em off about a love con being played on me.

I love me better than a bit can."

We both laughed and got something to eat afterwards.

I said "Silky sometime the blessings in the game hit you as never before so keep seeking.

You might knock a forgery bitch that give you 3 racks a day, but for 3 days a week, so it’s up to us to do right with the money. Plus be cool the other days.

It’s not, easy come, easy go.

We ate and I drove Silky to his car as he requested. Silky checked with me once he got in safe at his pad. I did like-wise. Silky and I always knew where the gun was in case we had to use one.

Sometimes a pimp can look like a steak to a hungry wolf with a gat in his mit so take my advice, beware of the wolves who pimp hate.

For the next four to five days Candy showed a different side of her. She brough tin more and was under watch for any news on the Stockton girl. Silky
