Take them to church, read them at home, apply them to your livesyou wont go wrong. Some of my poems are fi lled with laughter, some illustrate pain. Some tell what happens when one calls on Jesus name.
I need you, once again to take this ride with me. I promise it will be adventurous and youll want to confide.
From the Author of
Dat Aint All
Barbara Hines Gamble
I am the composer of this book with exception of one poem that was written by myself and my sister Bernese in memory of “our mother”, Mrs. Della M. Rawls Hines. I believe that each of us is blessed with a unique gift. It’s up to the individual to allow it to spring forth and blossom. Gifts are talents that are to be shared with others. In sharing them, others can and will receive comfort, strength, love, and encouragement. As you read my poetry, I pray that it will take you to levels unknown in your life that will help you to be all that you can be in Christ. When you read the poems, I know there will be laughter, tears, oohs, and aahs, and “I know she didn’t go there.” Yes, I did, for it needed to be said. I pray that you will share them in your churches, homes, and schools and wherever there is a need. Be blessed and look for my second book coming soon. I thank God for allowing me to pursue my dream of being published today after many years of writing, all because my son, Marcus, kept searching until he found someone willing to help and provide information that placed me where I needed to be. Thank you, Marcus, I shall never forget your acts of kindness.
To Virgil, Tiffany, Marcus, Terry, Roi, Lucious III, Dominique, Tyra Mariah, and Virgil Jr., my grandbabies, I love you and I’m grateful for you all being a part of my life. To my friend, Learia Dean Vaughan, thanks for pushing me.
To Lucious Gamble Jr., my husband, a.k.a. Mr. Bug, this is the beginning of something good. Open the door, baby, and let’s allow God to take us there together.
To my brothers and sisters, nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends, thank you for all that you have done. Thanks for words of encouragement that kept me going forward when it seemed so impossible.
To Mrs. Eunice P. Mack and Miss Patricia B. Washington, who worked long hours with me to get this book done, thanks a million! I could not have done this without you.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge three pastors for words of inspiration and prayers:
Elder Patrick Wilson of New Birth Christian Ministries
Pastor James O. Nelson of Eden Baptist Church
Pastor Angela C. Harden of New Destiny Ministries
Each one of you has encouraged and prayed for me that I may be successful in every aspect of life as I go forth and fulfill my purpose.
Theresa, words cannot express the joy I feel and the love I have for you. Thank you for helping to get my work out there. I pray that as you continue to write, God will continue to endow you with wisdom, and that His blessings will always be with you.
In loving memory of:
My father, Mr. Charles Hines Sr.
My mother, Mrs. Della M. Rawls-Hines
My brothers,
Mr. Willie A. Hines,
Mr. Leroy Hines,
Mr. Turner Hines,
and my nephew, Mr. Tylance Hines
