      FOREWORD

      When I think of what the phrase Divine Father means to me, my focus does not gravitate towards the spiritual realms, yet rather towards my realizations regarding my own father who raised me as a child. The interesting thing about this exquisite Divine Father book that my beloved Ivonne wrote is that she finished it right before giving birth to our first son, Iam. So in effect, I had the opportunity to read this book and experience the sutras and realizations that it invokes right after becoming a Divine Father myself. Thanks to her, I was able to have the most profound experience of my life and I am beyond grateful for this.

      As most men will confess, there are no words that can describe becoming a father for the first time. For me this just happened 2 months ago at the age of 42, also a very important age range for men. And at the same time, I thought about my own father who raised me, who happened to have the label of step-father, and I have had many revelations about that whole experience since I read this powerful book. When I was growing up, I thought my Dad was the worst, most strict, and generally most terrible Dad in the world, and I couldn’t understand how I ended up in that family. Now that I look back on it and see all of the things he modeled to me, such as character, discipline, work ethic, honesty, and consistency, I now think of him as an enlightened master! He lived very simply and his joy was his garden where he raised all of the food that we ate. Every afternoon after work, he would put on his work clothes, and go out and work in the garden, tilling the soil, planting seeds, or harvesting what he grew. I so much took this for granted and at the time thought he
