Preface

We have created two eBooks based on the book, ‘Soft Diamond Light, Only love matters’. The book is featured in the special, limited edition artwork production and talisman of power, ‘Soft Diamond Light’.

This hardcover book, along with the image and music for Soft Diamond Light, is a personal expression of my spiritual journey. The book is part of the Soft Diamond Light package – a gift for world leaders to inspire them to support the vision of Soft Diamond Light. The book is divided into two sections: Part one, ‘Soft Diamond Light’ and Part two, ‘Only Love Matters’.

This eBook is based on Part one of this book.

The two eBooks were created to make the information of this production more accessible to a global audience, and more importantly, to add the vibratory energy of Soft Diamond Light to the ‘online consciousness’ of the internet.

It is important to realise the internet is a physical materialisation of the inner collective consciousness of humanity. Just as the ‘mobile phone’ is a primitive, physical manifestation of telepathy, the internet represents a physical manifestation of the group consciousness of humanity, warts and all.

If you think about it, a mobile phone is effectively the ability to communicate over great distances with no physical connection. It is a ‘device’ that manifests the superphysical quality of telepathy, as far as humanity can accept this type of a phenomenon at this time of its evolution. In a similar way, the internet is also the ‘bringing-into-form’ of a crude, physical manifestation of the inner consciousness of humanity. (This is the true esoteric significance of the ‘internet’.) As such, the internet can be used for creating separation or unity within humanity.

In the book, Part one, ‘Soft Diamond Light’ explores some of the main esoteric principles in Part two. This is done in three sections. The first section focuses on the image of Soft Diamond Light and explains the story behind its evolution. The second section explores the music of Soft Diamond Light. This is done in relation to the extraordinary experience of spiritual awakening in store for each and every one of us. It also describes how the music was created as a companion to the book, and the story behind the song, ‘I know I am’. This song was written for my spiritual teacher. The music is based on the song, and it was produced to celebrate its performance to her. The CD is effectively one piece of music, comprising 13 moves, the song and a reprise.

The music to Soft Diamond Light can be played while reading the book, or contemplating the image and/or the Meditations and Insights. The entire music can also be used as a specific spiritual practice, as described in the second section of Part one. The music entices the listener to hear the silence and power within the notes. This occurs when you become aware and present to the deva of the music.

The third section, revealing the story behind the book, is about my invitation to visit my spiritual teacher at her ashram in 1997. It was during this visit that I presented her with the first draft of this book as a gift and to receive her blessings for the project. I also had the opportunity to delve deeply into my Self during my extended stay at the ashram, undergoing many profound inner experiences.

The third section also includes one of the main purposes of writing the book– to provide an introduction to the Universal Manifestation Principle™. The section gives an overview of how this principle operates. The principle describes how the entire physical universe materialises from a metaphysical point of view.

While the book is not a comprehensive treatise on life or the universe, it does seek to introduce some different pathways, and to open some new doorways, for examining these areas in a different light. The intention is to present a more expansive view of life and to enrich our perception and the purpose of it. Our primary focus can then become to better ourselves and the rest of humanity.

Part two, ‘Only Love Matters’ emerged from the bringing together of a selection of my meditations, dating back to my teenage years in 1965, and the writing of new meditations more recently. The Insights on the opposite page of each Meditation were also written recently and were inspired by each of the specific Meditations. They can be a catalyst to awaken your innate inner wisdom. If you are seeking some inspiration in your life; if you are looking for an answer to some question or challenge, then hold the book in your hands, feel the inner vibration of its deva and visualise the image of Soft Diamond Light. Listen to the music of Soft Diamond Light with an open heart and open the book to any Meditation and Insight. As you read, let your own inner wisdom be your guide to receive whatever you need to know or do right now for the highest good. Our inner wisdom or inspired intuitive intelligence is based on the existence of a state of consciousness accessible within every one of us, it functions beyond the limitations of the mind. It rests in the silent power of the heart. A place where ‘knowing’ is a natural ability, the same as thinking is to the mind.

The Meditations and Insights are based on my interest, study, contemplation and meditation of esoteric teachings, which explore the technical, methodical and metaphysical principles that allow our universe to function and come into physical manifestation. In particular, I am fascinated by our individual and collective purpose on this planet called earth and its role in relationship to our overall solar system.

I would recommend reviewing the entire Glossary before reading the book. The entries provide an insight into some of the deeper aspects, concepts and ideas in the book. It also contains additional material not directly referenced in the body of the book for your further information and interest.

In summary, the book introduces our ability to create and maintain powerful thought-forms for serving the highest good of the planet. This rests in understanding the power of meditation, and consciously invoking the cooperation of the devic kingdoms. May the presence of this book and its music in your life assist to guide you in discovering more of who you really are. May you be filled with the light and strength of a diamond and the softness of love. May the power of light and love shine forth in your life.

Part one

Soft Diamond Light

Essence

The essence of the book resides in the Soft Diamond Light image and the music for Soft Diamond Light. (The image and music are intrinsically linked.)

The image and the music hold the inner power of the book. The image has been used as a ‘visual mantra’ throughout the book. ‘Soft Diamond Light’ refers to the energy of our inner Self – our spiritual essence. Essentially, the image, book and music of Soft Diamond Light were created to provide an expression of this essence. The book also attempts to explain how this spiritual essence manifests in the physical world.

The aim of the book is to awaken the ‘diamond’ of our inner Self, allowing love to flow into our lives. Just as a cluster of carbon atoms, under enormous pressure and over a great period of time, ultimately becomes a diamond, so each one of us, the individual atoms of a supreme Consciousness, become diamonds shining with divine love.

The philosophical foundation for this book rests in the existence of superphysical worlds that form the basis from which everything and everyone has come into being. All of it is part of an elegant, systematic, extraordinary, evolutionary and intelligent scheme of development and progress, which has been in process for eons of cosmic time. To this end, each of us currently has the opportunity, via our own individual effort, to move from human to superhuman consciousness through the awakening of kundalini shakti*.¹ This power inherently exists within the very fabric of our constitution as a spiritual and material life-force. Its awakening also initiates various faculties within us that can reveal a deeper understanding of the spiritual and esoteric principles explored in this book and the music of Soft Diamond Light.

Vision of light

Soft Diamond Light offers a vision of light, love and peace.

The book, image and music have all been produced with the aim of simply raising the vibration of the atmosphere whenever they are read, viewed and/or played. Indeed, wherever they simply reside.

One of the ways this happens is based on a phenomenon first observed in the seventeenth century by a notable physicist, Christian Huygens. He noticed that when two pendulum clocks were swinging at different rates, and were placed on a wall near each other, they would eventually end up swinging at the same rate. This effect was also seen when individual pulsing heart muscle cells were brought close together and began pulsing in synchronicity. The principle is now seen to be universal and is commonly known as entrainment. Basically, it was observed that interacting frequencies tend to come into harmony and resonance with each other. In the same way, the Soft Diamond Light image and the music of Soft Diamond Light generate a frequency, which is tuned to the vibration of the inner Self. Their vibration seeks to bring your lower Self into resonance with your inner higher Self. With your effort, they have the potential to synchronise your life and bring it into harmony with your true Self – they invoke its vibration so that it comes to the forefront of your awareness and personal life.

This phenomenon is also at the core of the relationship between a disciple and their spiritual Master or teacher – a true Guru. Traditionally, a disciple will serve the Guru in order to gain access to their knowledge. This knowledge is transferred through the disciple serving the Master, connecting energetically and karmically to the vibration of the inner Guru and hence their own innate wisdom. As disciples bathe in the aura or frequency of the Master they invoke the principle of entrainment. (This may also initiate a spiritual awakening of the kundalini in the disciple.) The vibration of the personality is raised so that the inner Self of the disciple, which always vibrates in harmony with the Master, is suddenly able to take up a more active role in the functioning and direction of the disciple’s personality, namely their thoughts, desires and actions. In effect, the personality tunes its ‘dial’ or reception to the frequency of its own inner knowledge of the Self due to the added powerful impetus of the Master.

In esoteric traditions the sound vibration or frequency of the inner Self, our actual inner Self and the Guru are all often regarded as one and the same thing. This is the reason why a mantra with the frequency or vibration of the inner Self, especially when enlivened by a true Guru, has great power.

The entire book attempts to bring to light a high-level perspective of some of the esoteric and metaphysical principles of the universe. My understanding of these principles has arisen through my experiences and a personal journey on a spiritual path over the last forty years. However, I feel a deeper comprehension of these principles cannot be conveyed through the medium of words alone. The real power of words is that they can be a catalyst to inspire our intuitive understanding of these principles through spiritual insight – sight from within.

The book seeks to highlight to the reader that each of us has an inbuilt capacity to grasp these principles by aligning, attuning and absorbing our mental, emotional and physical faculties and senses in our true inner Self. The Soft Diamond Light image, plus its companion music and song, ‘I know I am’, were produced as a catalyst to initiate just that.

Just like a picture can say a thousand words or music can touch the heart of the soul, the intention of the image and the song is for the audience to imbibe the essence and vibration of this inner Self. They were inspired and designed to ‘call your name’, as the words of the song, ‘I know I am’ say. While the words to the song may seem rather personal, they refer to the higher love of a disciple for a spiritual Master or Guru. This ‘name’ is the pure and powerful vibratory note of your inner Self. This Self is symbolised by the image and is celebrated with the music in the companion CD to the book.

The image and the song represent this purity and power within us all. The reality is that we are all an interconnected and interdependent part of one great universal Consciousness.

Living in balance

There have been two benchmark experiences in my life that have allowed me to combine my worldly entrepreneurial life with spirituality. The first was back in the late 1970s when I co-founded a spiritual residential and educational centre on the east coast of Australia, in northern New South Wales, and lived there for a number of years. It was called the Homeland Community, officially founded on 1 April 1977. It is situated on idyllic land of more than 120 hectares and exists to this day, with the land held in perpetuity for the upliftment of the planet. At that time, I became chairman of the board of trustees of the organisation that had originally purchased the land.

I lived in the community for around three years. During that period of time we became closely affiliated with the Findhorn Community in Scotland. This was primarily because of our aligned vision and our involvement in the Australian tour of its founders, Eileen and Peter Caddy, who stayed at the Homeland Community in 1978.

The second was some time later, in 1995, when I moved into an ashram in Sydney where I lived for nine years, pursuing a life focused on spiritual practices. I maintained an active inner life and was also able to manage entrepreneurial business projects during the day, outside of the ashram. As a result I had a unique opportunity to approach worldly activities with a rich and disciplined spiritual focus. Leaving the ashram each day was like going out to the ‘unreal’ world, while coming back at the end of the day to the sacred atmosphere of the ashram felt like the real world.

This book represents a significant milestone in my life. It is a rite of passage to another dimension or expression of who I can be. It signifies a turning point in my life. It is what I now wish to
