About this ebook

Fairy Twoteeth and the Tooth Fairy is the first in a series of Granddad Ray-Ray books. His stories are designed to be fun to read to small kids, and should be developed and added to by the reader to make them especially relevant to the listener. Grand parents especially can use them as a vehicle to add in details that are relevant to each story about their own children the listeners parents. In this books story, for example, memories about the first time one of their children lost a tooth can be remembered out loud. If the reader so wishes the theme within each book can also be used to provoke thought and discussion about domestic and social issues, such as the possible consequences of eating particular foods, or a childs fear of visiting dentists, or the practicalities of wearing spectacles, or the realities faced by children with some sort of disability.

Author

Raymond John Pine

Ray Pine was born in Yorkshire, England in 1951 and worked in the hotel and foodservice industry until he became a university educator in 1977. In 1987 he moved to a university in Hong Kong where he has lived ever since. As part of his career as a professor he has spent short periods of time working in China, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, France and Switzerland. Ray has an extensive list of publications – but until now only textbooks and academic journals. Ray and his wife Ruth are both Reiki Masters. They have three grandchildren and Ray loves to spend time playing with the kids, and he found a new creative streak making up stories to tell them. Although two of the grandkids live in Hong Kong and the other in London, they usually spend Christmas all together in Hong Kong and summers at their home in a small French village where he and Ruth bought a house in 1990. Ray tried to retire from academic life in 2004 but was persuaded to re-join in 2011 to help with the setting up of a new university-type institution in Hong Kong. Fortunately he was free during those years to be a hands-on granddad when the grandkids were born in 2006, 2008 and 2009. He plans to really retire soon and devote all his time to family pursuits, of course focusing on the rapidly growing grandkids – and write more children’s books which will hopefully help to keep readers young and listeners entertained. Ray would love to hear from readers and listeners at granddadrayray@gmail.com.
