    PREFACE

Over the past few years, the subject of financial prosperity has been one of the most popular pulpit topics; however, it has also been one of the most poorly taught. Therefore, contrary to popular teaching, the Lord does not prosper you in accordance to your faith or prosper you in accordance to the financial seed that you have sown, but rather, the Lord multiplies your seed sown through the fruit that you produce because the fruit is the converter—it is that which your seed sown is multiplied through—and you produce your fruit by grace through faith with hope.

    INTRODUCTION

    "Innovation is to knowledge, as improvisation is to music;

it brings to life that which you already have."

    Gary D. Combs

After being born again in the summer of 1994, I had spent a great deal of time studying the word; being faithful in prayer, tithes, and offerings; so on and so forth, yet had failed to see any of the results that I had heard so many of the faith preachers and teachers proclaim—especially with regard to financial increases and blessings.

As such, during that time, I was vice-president of our family-owned-and-operated bookbinding company, the Perfect Binding Corporation, located in Indianapolis, Indiana, to which I had believed that the Lord was going to bless our company to continue its prosperous rise. Therefore, simply put, as I had heard taught by many in the pulpit, I had sowed a great deal of my personal finances as seed offerings unto the Lord. Truth be told, I had given very little to those various tele-evangelists, however, I did give tens-of-thousands of dollars to my local church, being led to give into the lives of others, as well as to various ministries as seemed good at the time.

Subsequently, to make a very long story short, our company did prosper to the point of having to add a twenty-thousand-square-foot expansion onto our building as well installing an expensive, new perfect binding line (which is used to produce paperback books); however, shortly thereafter, the company began to take a series of massive losses by which I became confused, mad, angry, and bitter at the turn of events that had been so contrary to what I had been believing for.

Consequently, in August 1997, after being severely burned-out from the fast-paced environment, coupled with the financial woes that had resulted, I ended up resigning from my position at PBC in order to attend Rhema Bible Training Center, as I was hopeful to discover why my faith was not producing the desired results that I had heard so many ministers proclaim.

(By the way, in case you are interested, a number of years later there was a family fallout, and contrary to all of those you will be blessed messages that I had heard taught, PBC filed for bankruptcy protection and was eventually closed, with the building being put up for sale, making my 19 percent ownership worthless.)

At any rate, I did not find my answers at Rhema, as they had basically taught the faith and prosperity messages in the same manner as I had heard all of those others teach; but rather, amusingly enough, my answers came after I graduated from Rhema, as I worked meaningless dead-end jobs. In fact, I spent nearly four years working on my first manuscript entitled Be Fruitful and Multiply (The Converter), which greatly detailed how the faith and prosperity messages should have been taught. However, due to its massive content, I later decided that it would be best to finally begin my ministry with just its first chapter.

Subsequently, in 2005, I self-published my first book entitled, Be Fruitful and Multiply (Financial Prosperity-Chapter 1). However, even though I liked the contents of what I had written, I never felt comfortable about the way it was structured. Then, in 2012, I revised and re-titled that book into this current format.

Therefore, please know that in the following pages I will answer these questions:

How does the Lord multiply your seed sown?

How is the Lord able to cause men to give into your bosom?

How is the Lord able to give you life and life more abundantly?

How is the Lord able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that you can ask or think?

How is the wealth of the wicked laid up for the just?

In conclusion, it is my sincerest hope that you are blessed from the things that I have learned.

    WHAT WAS TAUGHT

You cannot out-give the Lord. - Anonymous

Over the past few years the subject of financial prosperity has been one of the most popular pulpit topics; however, it has also been one of the most poorly taught. Simply put, many in the pulpit have sent forth a massive wave of prosperity teachings that are all premised upon the Lord’s faithfulness to multiply your financial offerings to him.

In short, the basic premise of the prosperity message is that your financial giving of tithes and offerings are types of financial seed that you sow to the Lord, and that he is faithful to multiply your seed back to you. Subsequently, once you place your faith upon the faithfulness of the Lord then your results are guaranteed, simply because God is faithful and cannot lie; therefore, he will prove himself to you in accordance to your faith.

As such, this prosperity message revolves around several scripture passages, these being:

"While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease." (Genesis 8:22)

"Bring ye all the tithes into the store house, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." (Malachi 3:10)

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33)

"Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete with all it shall be measured to you again." (Luke 6:38)

"Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness." (2 Corinthians 9:10)

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." (Galatians 6:7)

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Galatians 6:9)

Granted, other scripture passages have been used as well, however, these particular passages are generally the most often cited. Truth be told, these passages are in fact 100 percent truth, however, in the context of financial prosperity they have also been misunderstood, and/or misinterpreted as well; which in turn has made the prosperity message far too shallow in its reasoning.

For instance, many have taught that if you sow money as a seed offering to the Lord that you will reap money simply because Galatians 6:7 reads, "whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." However, as you will soon see, there is another scripture passage that completely contradicts this, and subsequently reveals that you WILL NOT literally reap what you sow, but rather figuratively you will; as all interpretations need to be properly balanced.

Consequently, the purpose of this writing is to bring a depth of understanding to the topic of Biblical financial prosperity through the reexamination and clarification of numerous verses that have not been properly interpreted; which all leads me to this one point:

During the course of my studies I sought the answer to one simple question that I couldn’t get anyone else to give me an intelligent answer to, how does the Lord multiply your seed sown?

Obviously, you’d think that this one simple question would have been what all of those other teachings would have revolved around. Unfortunately, however, those other messages all revolved around the faithfulness of the Lord to perform that which he had promised, simply because those ministers did not know how the Lord multiplies the seed sown.

Of a truth, whenever I sought the answer concerning how the Lord multiplies the seed sown, all I ever heard in response was, By faith; with minister after minister proclaiming, Just believe that what God said he would do, that he will do it, because that is what faith in God is all about.

In fact, I had also heard it taught by many that, in essence, Just as the Lord had given the Promised Land to the children of Israel, so too will he give to you that which he has promised as well. Unfortunately, they had failed to expound upon the fact that the Lord had given the Promised Land to the children of Israel little-by-little through war, and many lost their lives in those battles.

Granted, it took me a very long time to figure it out; however, let me assure you beforehand that this entire writing revolves around one theme, how the Lord multiplies your financial seed sown. Regrettably, and in all honesty, it does not occur by faith!

Subsequently, the Lord multiplies your seed sown through the fruit that you produce, because the fruit is the converter, it is that which your seed sown is multiplied through. In fact, you produce your fruit as you learn how to simultaneously walk in the spirit of your past, present and future; or, in other words, as you learn how to simultaneously walk by grace through faith with hope.

As such, during your journey to produce some type of financial fruit you will encounter
