    Introduction

    I hope you’ll enjoy the poems in this book,

    Many of which may be worth a good look:

    A tribute to Shetland, known as Old Rock,

    Tales of the Grand Slam; a great sporting shock.

    Thanks to The Lord for instant salvation;

    Accounts of friends who brought restoration.

    So however varied your tastes may be,

    Come on a poetic journey with me!

    Power of Salvation

    How awesome and majestic is The Saviour of my soul,

    Who gave His life on Calvary’s Cross so many years ago;

    Incapable of anything without God by my side,

    I must learn to surrender to Him all my heart’s desires;

    There is no purpose to my life unless I serve the One,

    Who gave His life that I may live: God’s one and only Son.

    What sacrifice to comprehend upon that lonely Cross,

    To vanquish our adversary and triumph over loss:

    My Saviour gave me everything right there at Calvary;

    The power of salvation for an evil wretch like me!

    Karen’s Poem

    I thank The Lord each dawning day

    For the special friend He brought my way,

    Whose joyous smile fills my heart

    With hope that friendship does impart.

    When life here seemed an endless trial,

    She
