Why Meal Prep?
Planning your meals for the entire week actually has a lot of advantages. Since meal plans vary from one person to the next, the goals behind these plans will also be different. Some people meal prep to save money while others do it to save time. On the other hand, there are those who do it in order to lose weight.
The following are some of the advantages that you can get if you meal prep. Yes, it gives you an Instagram photo that you can brag about but there is more to it than that. Well, yeah, having an endless stack of the meals you have pre-planned and prepared is already an epic post.
If you aren’t into meal prepping already, then here are some of the reasons why you should jump on the bandwagon.
Big Reason #1 – It helps you manage your time
If there is one common thing that everybody pretty much complains about is the fact that there isn’t really enough time. Schedules are jam packed on weekdays and you always want to have some time off during the weekend.
People would then complain that they don’t have enough time to do pretty much anything else. They would say there isn’t enough time to exercise. There isn’t enough time to get the house chores done. There’s even not enough time to get your morning latte.
One very common complaint is that people don’t have enough time to prepare their meals. So, what happens? We go for the quick and easy solution – fast food. Fast food is fast food whether you eat it in your favorite restaurant or at home after heating it with a microwave. These meals often include too many salt, sugar, and additives. That’s one of the reasons why people gain weight.
How do you get over this? Pick one day in the week to prepare all the meals you will eat for 7 days, pack it, store it, and then eat it as scheduled. That way you have enough time to prepare really delicious and healthy meals that won’t contribute to the losing battle of the bulge.
Big Reason #2 – It helps you stay committed to your diet
Since you will have all your meals for the entire week prepped up, packed, and ready to eat, you know in advance that you will always be on track when it comes to your nutrition goals. There is no second-guessing needed. You can plan your meals with the goal of losing weight but the reverse is also true – you can plan your meals ahead of time so that you will eat enough food and take in enough calories for a healthy weight gain.

One of the misconceptions that people have about shopping for food is that buying fast food is always cheaper. But is it really cheaper? Whenever you hear the word convenience

Also, it is a lot healthier for you so you save up the potential medical fees that you will pay in the future due to your unbalanced diet.
