About this ebook
Love is pretty poetry. Although personal, it is a universal feeling that people undeniably know it the minute they've found it. These poems share love's intensity and subtleness in a way that we can identify with as vessels of love. They allow us to share in the motion and the stillness of love. They help us to understand that the beauty in love is not at the end of the journey, but it lives in all the moments throughout. Beautifully and eloquently simple reflections of love in its purest and most authentic form. The thoughts, words and actions in poetic verse. This is a journey into the beautiful side of trying. This is a journey into the beautiful side of hoping. This is a journey into the beautiful side of finding.Even if this lovely journey must end.Love is beautiful enough to begin again.

DEDICATIONS
TO MY MOTHER AND FATHER, Vivian and Mr. Booker T.
I formed because you loved,
I grew because you nurtured,
I am because you were.
To my aunt Sharron-
The first poet I knew. Your notebooks
full of poems instilled in me a love of poetry
To my sister, Tredina-
I learned because you taught,
I excelled because you were patient.
My first and favorite teacher.
To the memory of my brother, Booker T., II-
I continue because you couldn’t.
To my lifelines, Tiviana, Kyle, Tevin, Deonna, Teonna and Maurice-
I act because you need tangible evidence.
My unconditional loves, you are the wind beneath my wings.
To all my other family, friends and supporters. You are appreciated.
You Still
(FOR MY PARENTS VIVIAN and Booker T. for showing me that love looks like pretty poetry)
STANDING ON PRAYERS and promises,
you still run around like newlyweds
you take rides together just to grab some bread
you dress for car rides out
you share with love is about
you spend time together every day
you have three-hour phone calls when one of you is away
you worship together on Sunday morning
you hurry to each other’s aid when the other is calling
you make dinner time a priority
you make decisions collectively
you probably didn’t plan for forty-five years when the knot you sealed
you inspire everyone around you because your love, STILL
