      ULIE YIP-WILLIAMS MEMOIR THE UNWINDING OF THE MIRACLE IS WRITTEN as a letter that she wrote for her husband and her daughters, Mia and Isabelle. Julie was blind when she was a child. She was a refugee from Vietnam. With the unfortunate circumstances surrounding her during the early years of her life, Julie Yip-Williams would have been an unlikely candidate for good fortune. However, years later, she achieved much in life that she could never have imagined for herself. When she was in her 30s, Julie became an alumna of an Ivy League university. She was already working as a lawyer with a nice New York apartment. She was happily married to her American husband, and they had two smart and lovely little girls.

      Everything in her life changed in 2013; the young mother Julie Yip-Williams was sent to an emergency room with intolerable abdominal pain. After a series of tests, it turned out to be a deadly disease: stage four colon cancer. Soon after her terrifying diagnosis, Yip-Williams started writing a blog that would eventually change the way people would talk about cancer. Yip-Williams documented the dreadful aspects of cancer and the complex and very ugly emotions that accompany the deadly disease. But Yip-Williams also shared the unexpected happiness that she discovered in herself, her family, and her
