Benjamin Faleye, Ibraheem Bello, Jemil Oyebisi and Temidayo Adefioye started project CATARA after they heard of a story of a friend who was unaware and living with a cataract for quite some time, eventually causing him to go blind. Had he known about the issue early on, the issue could have been solved for. Because of this, the team wanted create a solution that would detect early signs of cataracts and prevent people from going blind.
