Description

Jacques Cousteau's grandson, Fabien Cousteau, will soon be teaching students about the ocean - while living underwater! That's just one of the many innovative lessons teachers are bringing their students using technology to connect with other teachers and experts around the world. Amy Rosenstein is a 3rd grade teacher who recently won the Pioneer Award for her creative lessons using Skype and other technologies to expand and enhance her students' learning experiences. Amy tells us how she uses technology in the classroom and how other teachers can too.
Parents, are you aware of teens abusing OTC cough medicines? October is National Medicine Abuse Awareness Month. Five Mom Christy Crandell is an author, Co-Founder Full Circle Treatment Center, and drug awareness advocate from California. Ten years ago, Christy and her family learned about cough medicine abuse the hard way after her son was sentenced to 13 years at Folsom State Prison for a crime he committed while high on OTC cough medicine and marijuana.  Since then, Christy helped found the Full Circle Treatment Center and became part of the Five Moms initiative to help other parents educate themselves about the dangers facing their teens and seeks to arm them with the tools they need to avoid the tragedy her family was forced to face.  Christy is the author of Lost & Found: A Mother and Son Find Victory over Teen Drug Addiction.
Whether you are a brand new parent or have teenagers leaving the nest in a few short years, MomRN has advice, support, and encouragement to help you on your journey through parenthood.
