About this ebook

McConnell's Travesty is the farce Impeachment Trial Moscow Mitch McConnell foisted on the American People. Democrats will fear Trump so long as he wields Presidential Power. Republican fear him more. Even Republican Senators, who are retiring, like Lamar Alexander (TN), would not vote to convict Trump, despite admitting that the House Managers proved their case. Alexander opined that Trump had learned his lesson through the Impeachment. The Senator is right. Trump learned multiple lessons when dealing with weaklings. Under Article II of the Constitution, an unrestrained and unrepentant Trump will do whatever he wants to do. The Congress, through McConnell's Travesty, has surrendered all Congressional Power to the Executive Branch.
Fuzzy-thinking Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) twice offered a question in the Trial to try to expose the identity of the Whistle Blower, whose Complaint triggered the Impeachment Inquiry. Chief Justice John Roberts refused to read it twice. Fuzzy-thinking defense attorney Alan Dershowitz opined that, if the President did something that he thought would help re-election, such act could not support Impeachment unless it constituted a serious crime. One by one, Republican Senators came to the floor of the Senate to try to justify their pending acquittal of the President. One by one, each failed because the President was guilty of Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Congress, and each Republican Senator knew it.
Senator Joe Mansion (D-WVA) suggested a Censure vote for Trump. That would sound nice, but would not restrain the out of control President. How about a team of FBI Agents to monitor Trump 24/7. That would not work because the FBI reports to Attorney General William Pelham Barr, and Trump controls Barr. By leaving Trump in office, Republicans have virtually assured that he will cheat to win on November 3, 2020. The conspiracy to smear former Vice President Joe Biden continues unabated. Hedging his bets, Trump recently called Bernie Sanders a Communist. It is ironic that Trump, a Russian asset, should call Sander a Communist. The question is, Will the American People fall for Soviet-style Disinformation and Propaganda again. Fool us twice, shame on us.

    Foreword

Corruption is not an Impeachable Offense according to Senate Republicans, who know in their hearts that President Trump is guilty as sin of Abuse of Power in extorting Ukraine for an investigation of former Vice President Joe Biden to help Trump win the 2020 election. The facts are not seriously challenged. Trump remitted appropriated funds to Ukraine in 2017 and 2018 in the ordinary course of government business without a hitch and without any concern for corruption. Joe Biden announced for president in April 25, 2019, and Trump suddenly morphed into the world's foremost pretend corruption fighter, but only in Ukraine, and only with respect to Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, whom Ukrainian gas transmission company, Burisma Holdings, appointed to its Board. Trump directed an elaborate plan to dirty-up Joe Biden by suggesting that Vice President Biden forced out Ukraine Prosecutor General, Viktor Shokin, to stop an investigation of feigned corruption of Hunter Biden.

Ironically, Trump prized the announcement of an investigation, not the investigation itself. Trump deputized America's Fallen Mayor, Rudy Giuliani, to manage the scheme in Kiev. Rudy saw an opportunity to help Trump, and also make some money on the side consulting for opportunists in Ukraine. Giuliani had some eager players, who would like to muscle in on the local gas business. Nothing could be accomplished on either count, however, until Giuliani could hobble U. S. Ambassador and true corruption fighter, Marie Yovanovitch, who refused to go along with the hijinks. Giuliani informed Trump that the Ambassador had to go.

Trump tried to recall the Ambassador a number of times, but the State Department did nothing Undeterred, Giuliani and his associates began a public smear campaign calculated to dirty-up Ambassador Yovanovitch, after which the coast wold be clear for Giuliani to dirty-up Joe Biden and peddle influence on the side. After the public smear campaign, Trump finally convinced the State Department to recall the Ambassador, whose personal security was in question. The FBI arrested two of Giuliani's helpers, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, on violations of Campaign Finance Law. Parnas promptly offered to share evidence with Congress after Trump denied knowing him. The Senate did not want to hear any witnesses or see any evidence.

Majority leader McConnell dropped a bombshell the night before the Impeachment Trial was set to begin by foisting a proposed Rule that would require House Managers to cram twenty four hours of opening statement into two (later changed to three) twelve-hour days starting at 1:00 PM. After Opening Statements, the Senate would decide on witnesses and evidence. The Opening Statements in effect were the presentation of evidence and argument by both sides. Witnesses and evidence, if any, would come only after conclusion of Trial. This made sense only to Republicans, who wanted to Dismiss before witnesses or evidence could be presented.

House Manager proved their case that Trump should be removed. Senate Republican, however, held their noses, and voted to acquit Trump. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN) admitted that the House Managers proved their case, but that he would vote to acquit. Alexander thought that Trump had learned his lesson. Indeed, Trump learned that Article I of the Constitution was impotent, and, that under Article II, an unprincipled President could do anything he wanted to do if he controlled the Senate. It was Alexander and his Republican colleagues, who had not learned their lesson. Trump cheated in 2016, and will cheat in 2020. Using Soviet-style Disinformation and Propaganda, President Trump may bamboozle the American People into re-electing him. Fool us twice, shame on us!

    Chapter 1

Look At The Shiny Object, Not At Trump's Misdeeds.

Donald J. Trump is a Master of Soviet-style Disinformation, Propaganda, and Mind Control. Two of Trump's favorite techniques are Distraction, where he creates a greater threat or spectacle to divert attention from his policies or pronouncements, and Projection, where he projects onto others the frailties and fears that engulf
