Trigger Happy

Guns are here to stay, despite the murders, mass shootings and suicides attributed to them each year. Certainly there are good arguments for the use of firearms and, as hard as it is to convince gun owners that they would be safer without one, the emotive reasons for gun ownership are likely to outweigh any that are statistically based. Guns can make you feel safer and it’s hard to deny what someone feels, even if the reality doesn’t always support it.

But they are a polarising topic, and both gun lovers and haters should consider the potential future of guns, and how they could benefit both fans and critics. Every marksman intends to deliver a shot to stop or kill his intended target, and we never hear someone advocate spraying bullets aimlessly, or wanting only to wound during a hunt.
