ART AND SOUL

OKAY, I’LL ADMIT to having always had a fascination with town slogans. And one that really strikes a chord belongs to the American town of Marfa out on the parched plains of West Texas. It is “Tough to Get Here. Tougher to Explain.”

I feel an affinity with this place because here we are, out on the parched plains of Central NSW, faced with a similar difficulty when it comes to explanation. Surrounded by starring James Dean and Liz Taylor. And in 2007, it provided the badlands landscape for the Coen brothers movie .
