I’ll never forget the intriguing way the author described Jeff Beck — “The guitar player’s guitar player.” It just sounded so elite, so cool, so . One could argue that that obscure little memory from bygone days was the catalyst for this month’s “Jeff Beck: The guitar hero’s guitar hero” cover story. Thankfully, writer David Von Bader fleshed it out — and made it a reality — by getting respected players from different genres and generations to back up that mysterious author’s claim.
