Debt and Self Sufficiency

About this ebook
Debt is the result of everything we don't do for ourselves. Most people in the world have debt levels that match their assets or nearly. The problem with this is: we are vulnerable to economic fluctuations and personal problems. Another problem is that we are paying a substantial amount of our income on interest. Shakespeare said. "neither a borrower or lender be." If you add up the hundreds of thousands of dollars we are paying in interest, direct and indirect taxes in our lifetimes you will see what a nightmare scenario, living in the 21st Century is. Debt is also directly related to our spiritual and love states of being. If there is little love in our lives either from the Universe or family and friends we appear to have no choice but to spend, spend and spend.

Summary
Introduction
I have lived through the 1950s and 1960s and have had personal experience of living cheaply. It was not my intention back then to be debt-free and live a sustainable life; it just turned out that way. My personal experience back then and my present situation in life both harken to the artist’s life: soul searching where money seldom goes.
The divide between the rich and poor is growing exponentially. It is the age of prosperity consciousness,
where everyone has the God-given right to be filthy rich. I have always believed that as the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and so it is. Leaders of governments around the world lead to further themselves and keep their power. They strive to be rich while taxing the poor. They are often puppets of oligarchs, governing for the rich, not the people.
Equivalent wages are a quarter of what they were in 1972. If you don’t have the cash to build a home or buy a car, then you have to borrow it. Banks make a lot of profit from you these days because it’s impossible to save money. For the average person, life is only sustainable through debt, entertainment, distractions, alcohol, sex, and religion—all of which are available in spades on the internet.
There is another way, which I will explain the best I can in this book. Like Richard Overton, I don’t have a credit card, and I keep all my
