The Auroras & Blossoms NaPoWriMo Anthology - Donna Allard
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to The Auroras & Blossoms NaPoWriMo Anthology: 2020 Edition, containing inspirational poetry written by some incredibly talented authors throughout the month of April 2020.
Cendrine and I have been active participants in NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Month) for several years in a row now. We are always extremely excited to read all of the stunning poetry that is produced over this energetic period of creative endeavour. To write a poem every single day is no easy task, yet many poets manage to do it with wit, charm, integrity, style, and beautiful wordplay time and time again.
What happens after the month is finished, though? After April comes a time of deep reflection and appreciation for what has been previously written. We can finally take a step back to enjoy our poems as readers and marvel at the writers we have become.
I’m sure within this collection you will find many new unique poems that will instantly become your favourites. We have been very careful to pick only the most inspirational and positive pieces that we could find.
The results are nothing less than breathtaking and speak for themselves.
Join us on our epic uplifting journey. We look forward to celebrating future National Poetry Months in the same way that we have done with this one – giving them a place in both our hearts and our minds for many years to come!

When David Ellis and I announced our call for submissions for The Auroras & Blossoms NaPoWriMo Anthology: 2020 Edition in April 2020, we did not know what to expect. After all, with the Coronavirus pandemic in full flight and people in many countries having to stop working and stay home, sometimes in complete isolation, it was hard to predict what would happen.
From the first day of our call for submissions to its last, we received an incredible number of diverse poems. Some mentioned the Coronavirus, while others went in completely different directions altogether. But more importantly, the works we received provided a heartwarming outlook on the world. I cherish the wisdom that all these poems contain.
The Auroras & Blossoms NaPoWriMo Anthology: 2020 Edition features the work of 38 talented poets who understand how poetry can be used to uplift the mind. Each piece gives us an opportunity to see life as greater than the sum of its parts.
Life is an exciting journey, no matter what it throws at us.
I hope you will enjoy reading the poetry in this book as much as I have.
