About this ebook
As they say, you should value your present and not dwell in the past because the "present" is a gift.
It's important that you don't let your past or your partner's past affect your relationship.
Keep in mind that it already happened and there is no use crying over spilled milk.
Whatever you may have done before meeting your spouse is better off isolated in your memories.
You must not let it affect your good relationship now.

Marriage Success for Engaged and Married Couples - Shawn Mills
TIPS
DEDICATION
This book is dedicated to my lovely parents, Mr and Mrs Mills, and every intending and new couple.
INTRODUCTION
It is my passion and purpose to give couples the tools and strategies to create long-lasting and happy marriages.
This passion comes from my background as a family mediator. Family mediators are an alternative to litigation in divorce matters.
After mediating many divorcing couples, I aim to help couples create marriages where divorce is not an option.
In this book, I will highlight eight critical areas for marriage success namely;
Communication,
Resolving conflict,
Finances,
The vision for your marriage,
Sex and intimacy,
Marriage mindset,
Dealing with the past,
Romance and demonstrating love, and so on
In chapters of this book, there will be exercises for you to complete together. You will gain the most value from this book if you do complete those exercises together.
You may also wish to repeat essential exercises in the chapters of this book until you have completed it.
I recommend taking one section per week; thus, it will help you reflect upon that chapter before moving on to the next. How to deal with the past is a crucial step in your marriage journey.
Be together forever!
CHAPTER 1
COMMUNICATION
THE 3 A's OF ACE COMMUNICATION
I want to share a story with you about a couple I knew, Sandy and Danny.
Now Sandy and Danny did not have a love life. They didn't have sex ever. I'm not talking about an infrequent amount. Like once a month, I'm never talking. Sandy and Danny both wanted to have sex with each other. They just assumed that the other one did not. They never spoke about the lack of sex in their marriage until they eventually went to see a marriage counsellor.
The lesson, assumption is the mother of all misunderstandings.
What are my three A's for ace communication?
They are acceptance, authenticity, and active listening. Acceptance means making your marriage a haven.
You are entirely accepting and empathetic towards your marriage partner. Only then will they be happy to share with you their deepest fears and concerns. Empathy means putting yourself into your marriage partner's shoes.
Do this intentionally by repeating back to them how they are feeling at any one point in time. Also, guard your tongue, Alan Redpath said: think.
Is it accurate and helpful?
I: inspiring.
N: necessary.
And finally,
K: kind?
If it doesn't fit within think then rather do not say it, or re-frame how you say it.
Secondly, Be Authentic
Speak your truth in the kindest way possible. Your words and voice-only convey part of your
