    Stress appears in many different forms: traffic, long work hours, poor diet, fatigue, medication; and the list goes on. Regardless of how it appears, the end results are the same: inflammation, pain, illness, and disease. Unfortunately, we are unfamiliar with its many disguises; as such, we are caught under the tow and fall prey before we know it.

    May this book help us become wise to Stress’s devices. For conversational purposes, I have given Stress a physical body and life. May this depiction help us to see Stress for what it is in our lives: an enemy.

    Chapter 1

    The Philistines are Upon You!

    Despite the fact that we are of different races, hail from different places, have different last names, and coloring, there is one relative in our families who is common to us all. This relative comes to visit at the least opportune times, with lots of baggage. Tonight is no exception. Yes, without warning, without invitation, company has arrived and this promises to be an extended visit.

    Stunned, you are almost trampled as adults and children barge in with mounds of baggage and chatter. They swarm around and through you, it seems, in their bid to make themselves comfortable. Already, you can feel a slight headache, as you lift some of the baggage to place… where exactly? You’ll have to stack them in the hallway while you ponder that.

    In the meantime, you will retrieve bedding and pillows to transform your sofas into beds of sorts, for your guests. Maybe while you’re doing that, you could try
