Martha is a chef and a cookbook author. She has had a love of all things culinary since she was old enough to help in the kitchen, and hasn’t wanted to leave the kitchen since. She was born and raised in Illinois, and grew up on a farm, where she acquired her love for fresh, delicious foods. She learned many of her culinary abilities from her mother; most importantly, the need to cook with fresh, homegrown ingredients if at all possible, and how to create an amazing recipe that everyone wants. This gave her the perfect way to share her skill with the world; writing cookbooks to spread the message that fresh, healthy food really can, and does, taste delicious. Now that she is a mother, it is more important than ever to make sure that healthy food is available to the next generation. She hopes to become a household name in cookbooks for her delicious recipes, and healthy outlook.Martha is now living in California with her high school sweetheart, and now husband, John, as well as their infant daughter Isabel, and two dogs; Daisy and Sandy. Asian Meatballs with Chocolate Satay Sauce

Juicy meatballs drizzled with a chocolate satay sauce are a tasty appetizer to share; the cocoa adding depth of flavor to an already awesome sauce.

Servings: 2

Time: 20mins

Ingredients:

Meatballs:

8 ounces ground pork

1 tsp cocoa

½ tsp ginger (grated)

2 tsp hoisin sauce

1 tsp soy sauce

Chocolate Satay Sauce:

4 tsp sriracha sauce

1 tbsp hoisin sauce

1 tbsp cocoa

1 tbsp rice wine vinegar

4 tbsp sugar

1 tsp sesame oil

Directions:

1. In a bowl, combine the pork with the cocoa, ginger, hoisin sauce, and soy sauce.

2. Shape the mixture into 8 meatballs of equal size.

3. In a skillet, fry the meatballs until browned and sufficiently through, this will take approximately 15 minutes in total.

4. In a second bowl, combine the sriracha sauce, hoisin sauce, cocoa, rice wine vinegar, sugar, and sesame oil.

5. When fully incorporated, pour the sauce over the meatballs.

Chocolate Coated Crispy Bacon

Two kinds of melted chocolate come together to coat crispy smoked bacon and deliver the perfect party appetizer to serve with beer, wine or soda.

Servings: 4-6

Total Time: 45mins

Ingredients:

3 (4 ounce) bars semi-sweet chocolate (chopped)

1 (4 ounce) bar white chocolate (chopped)

16 slices thick cut, crispy smoked bacon (cooled, cut in half)

Directions:

1. In two double boilers, melt the semisweet and white chocolates. Whisk until entirely smooth. Remove the melted chocolates from the heat.

2. Dip the bacon into the melted semisweet chocolate, making sure it is entirely coated. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing on a parchment lined baking sheet.

3. Repeat until all the bacon is dipped.

4. Evenly drizzle the melted white chocolate over the semisweet chocolate covered bacon.

5. Transfer the sheet to the fridge, to set, for half an hour.

6. Remove from the fridge and serve.
