    About Me

I’m a Nutritionist with a B.S. in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of California at Berkeley, in Berkeley, California.

Professionally, I've worked in Clinical Nutrition (specifically as it relates to children), as a Chemist determining safe levels of pesticide residues for agricultural crops, as a Scientist purifying DNA sequences for research studies and, as a Director of Business Development, marketing to prosper and grow a company.

Along with this, I've maintained continuing education, in Nutrition, by taking online courses through Kansas State University, taking coursework in The Children and Changing Family program offered through the UC Berkeley Extension in San Francisco, attending Nutrition seminars as an alumni at UC Berkeley, and attending various Foodie events at the David Brower Center for Sustainability in Berkeley, California.

I've remained active in my community by volunteering at Children's Hospital Oakland, both in the Way to go kids program (a weight management program), and by taking a cart floor to floor serving patients and their families.  I'm also a Slow Food member and volunteer, supporter of Planting Justice, and have acted as a coalition member of the 5 a day power play program offered by the USDA.

I stay active running 5Ks, riding my bike and working out with free weights, as well as an exercise regimen that combines track stretches, ballet and various other stretching exercises.

    I love being outdoors, enjoying
