Failure

The escalating conflict over the Scarborough Shoal between the Philippines and China has been a very controversial issue these past few months. After having a dispute over Spratly Islands, China once again is claiming their territory rights over the shoal. The recent tensions in the area began last April 10, when a Philippine patrol boat encountered a fleet of Chinese 7/26/12

At the top of these arguments, a small kindergarten school was opened in Pag-asa, which symbolizes Philippines sovereignty over the said island. Philippines fighting their rights over the island is yet another struggle to be face by the government and its countrymen.

How

the Philippines face this kind of problem will dictate the country's fate in the near future. If the country decides to fight for the said island this will show the Philippines conviction in protecting their territory.

On

the other hand, if the Philippines decides to let go of the territory, this will show weakness that other countries may exploit someday. Either way, the decision that the Philippines will make in coping up with this challenge will prove to be highly significant. 7/26/12
