Counties in District Two: This Status Report is intended to provide an overview of the projects being implemented in FDOT District Two.

ARRA Implementation Status in FDOT District Two


65 ARRA projects are being implemented in District Two including 54 local projects, 4 major design/build projects, 5 transportation enhancement projects, 1 transit project and 1 ferry boat project. All projects have been advertised to date and all have received bids. All projects have been awarded to date. All projects have been issued notices to proceed with work. 60 projects have begun construction. 48 roadway projects have been completed.

ARRA Project Highlights


Beach Boulevard is being widened from four to six lanes between between Hodges Boulevard and San Pablo Road and State Road A1A (State Road 200) in Nassau County is being widened from two to four lanes from Griffin to Stratton roads. Both projects began August 27, 2009. A new overpass for State Road 23 (Branan Field-Chaffee Expressway) at Plantation Oaks Boulevard in Clay County began September 10, 2009 and was completed November 17, 2010. State Road 9B from State Road 9A to U.S. 1 is being construction as a new four-lane road. The project began July 1, 2010 and should be completed by the Summer of 2012. The projects that have not begun are CR 107 sidewalk and CR 200A resurfacing, both in Nassau County, CR 224A sidewalk and SR 224 restriping, both in Clay County and SR 207 at SR 312 improvements in St. Johns County.
