Subject: Proposal of new slaughter houses. Sir, Kindly refer to the proposal submitted by your Corporation to the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (Govt. of India), where as you have failed to shift slaughter houses, meat shops to approved area’s and all these existed slaughter houses and meat shops are not following the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Slaughter House) Rules, 2001, hence you are humbly requested to supply us the following information under RTI Act, 2005: 1. How many slaughter houses and meat shops existed under your jurisdiction? 2. From where these slaughter houses procured animals and how they brought animals? 3. Which kinds of animals they are slaughtering and how many animals are being slaughtered per day, per shift, in a day or night? 4. Whether the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Slaughter House) Rules, 2001 are strictly followed by these existed slaughter houses and what are the reasons behind to submit proposal before the Ministry of Food Processing Industries for setting up a new modernized slaughter house and how many animals will be slaughtered shift wise and where these slaughter houses be set up? 5. How much amounts you have spent on meat shops, slaughter houses, if set up and what is the present status of these meat shops and slaughter houses, please supply us the information with approved site plan? 6. Demands of meat consumption in your area per day, please give details with proof. 7. How many infirmaries set up for animals in distress with in your jurisdiction? 8. Please confirm that the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 along with the rules made out as per section 38 of this Act are being strictly followed and implemented under your jurisdiction? 9. Please confirm that which kinds of rules and regulations, you are implementing for animals and their welfare, specify with your efforts and results. The required fee is being sent by post.
