he doesn't believe in himself because he has to constantly prove himself she's a woman whose been thru a lot but has no excuse to lie about Tom. i love this character, Scout is smart and more grown-up then any other kid in the maturity level.
Mayella Ewell

Scout develops a more grown-up perspective that enables her to appreciate human goodness without ignoring human evil when he's charged of raping Mayella accidentally gets Scout in trouble one day
