Sodapop Curtis
Significance/Importance in the Story
Soda kept Darry and Ponyboy from killing each other, and in the end he brought all of the Curtis boys closer together. He was always doing something to make all the guys in the gang laugh. He could also make you smile no madder what was happening.

Physical/Emotional Characteristics
Sodapop, the middle Curtis brother, is a happy-go-lucky 16 year-old, friendly, moviestar handsome, and popular. He is a high school dropout and works at a gas station. Ponyboy envies Sodapops good looks and charm. Sodapop plans to marry Sandy, a greaser girl.

Johnny Cade
Significance/ Importance to the story
Johnny was a major character in the story. He died after getting hurt by a burning building. He was Ponyboys best friend and he was Ponyboys inspiration to wright his theme for school. He murdered a guy named bob, because he almost killed Ponyboy; but he risked his life to save some kids he didnt know.

Physical/Emotional Characteristics
Johnny is Ponyboy's best friend and the 'pet' of the gang. He's 16 years old, and lives with his alcoholic and abusive mother and father. Johnny was jumped and beat up by a Soc wearing heavy rings (Bob). Ever since then, Johnny has been paranoid about the Socs and always carries a switchblade. He has long black hair, covering his forehead, and large, fearful black eyes and a scar that runs from his temple to his cheekbone.

Ponyboy Curtis
Significance/ Importance in the story
Without Ponyboy there would be no story. He was the main character, he told the story about himself. This story was about what happened to him in a total of one week. How he lost his best friends, how he got over that, and how him and his brothers got closer together.

Physical/Emotional Characteristics
Ponyboy is 14-year-old boy; he is the youngest Curtis brother of Darry and Sodapop, and the youngest member of the greasers. He is sensitive, he does well in school, sometimes he doesn't think, he likes chocolate cake, his eyes are green, he loves his hair, he hates boloney, he likes Soda better than Darry, he's not very tough, he likes reading, watching sunsets, smoking, he's on the school track team.
