    Dear Sir, Unsolicited recommendation.

    I write in recognition of your advertisement in the Stabroek News of September 2nd, 2012, seeking an Executive Director for the Guyana Media Proprietors Association. Having studied what you require in a desirable candidate, I feel compelled to recommend Mr Ruel Johnson.

    I have followed keenly, Mr Johnsons commentary by way of intellectual arguments and opinions on matters of national interest for the past 5 years; I am of the view that he commands an impressive understanding of the political scene in Guyana and has a significant presence in the academic community.

    What is most noteworthy is Mr Johnsons commitment to always articulate from a standpoint of academic purity and a sense of nobility in doing what is right for the progression of our beloved country.

    Mr. Johnson is also notably fearless in voicing his opinion and challenging authority in the interest of goodwill and progress. His recent exchange with the Ministry of Culture

    has, in my opinion, served to enlighten the Ministrys operations as it relates to the Literary Committee. The GMPA will easily find Mr Johnson to be passionately committed in pursuing truth in public interest. In a developmental context, his moral compass is aligned in the right direction.

    I have communicated with Mr Johnson as it relates to this opportunity and he has indicated that he is interested and will apply. He is unaware of this recommendation. I trust that the Guyana Media Proprietors Association and Mr Ruel Johnson will receive my suggestion of pairing competency with requirement in good stead, no matter how brazen it may seem.

    The GMPA is of paramount importance in the nurturing of our democracy. It would have deeply disturbed me, had I not taken advantage of this opportunity to impart my humble insight.
