MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKS GOVERNMENT OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS

The Government of the Virgin Islands invites qualified and professional applicants to apply for the post of Engineer III (Water Services), Water and Sewerage Department. Main Responsibilities include: Serving as Head of the Departments Operations & Maintenance Division Implementation of a suitable leak detection programme for the Departments water distribution systems Ensuring a constant availability of water supply to Department customers and the general public Implementing a suitable maintenance programme for the Departments equipment, plant and infrastructure Arranging for the timely execution of works in the field as required or requested Ensuring that performance and activity records of the Division are maintained and readily available

Requirements: - Bachelors Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering - A minimum of 5 years of professional engineering experience, including experience in a public water and sewerage utility, design and construction, with at least 5 years of experience at supervisory level - Good computer skills with literacy in Word Processing, Spreadsheet and Engineering Software e.g. Auto CAD and Water CAD Excellent leadership and supervisory skills Good verbal and written communication skills

Salary: - Entry level $38,269 - $43,013 annually, Grade 12 commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits (if applicant recruited from outside the Territory): - Relocation assistance (Travel for self and baggage allowance)

Tax free Gratuity at 5% of salary (on successful completion of contract) Housing Allowance, and Telephone and Travelling Allowances upon acquisition of a telephone and vehicle Overtime Allowance (to be determined based on work demands)
