Analysis:
The aerodynamics of an airfoil helps explains how airplanes fly. It is based on the principle of Bernoullis Equation. From this video, it was seen how helpful it would be to lower the pressure over an airfoil (wing of an airplane) would lift the airplane into the area of the lower pressure

The red dots indicate the area of high pressure while the blue dots indicate the area of low pressure.

From Bernoullis principle, v1 > v2 P + 1/2 v^2 + h g = constant so P1 < P2

Relative Wind and Flight Path The airflow striking the airfoil is called the relative wind. The direction of the relative wind is always opposite and parallel to the flight path. Consequently, in level flight, the both are equal and parallel.

PART 2

[B] EXPERIMENT OF THE AERODYNAMICS OF AN AIRFOIL Angle of Attack This is the angle between the centre line of an airfoil and the flight path. From the video, I saw that increasing the angle of attack, increases the pressure difference therefore causing more lift. When this is increases beyond a certain limit, a STALL is developed. Stall leads to the sudden loss of lift.

Comments:
From this experiment, I saw that lift is a flying principle in which as the air is accelerated over an airfoil, it reduces pressure thus overcomes weight. I also saw that the angle of attack also affected the magnitude of lift and how it led to stall which arises when the airflow flowing over the top stops following the upper curved surface of an airfoil and breaks away. It usually begins to happen at about 15 degrees.

STALL: When the airflow flowing over the top stops following the upper curved surface and breaks away.

In summary, angle of attack, lift, and stall were the 3 most important principles in this experiment of the aerodynamics of an airfoil which in reality shows how an airplane flies in the air. This is why pilots pay great attention to the way these principles behave and how they affect the movement and stability of an aircraft.
