Associated Student Government University of Arkansas ASG Senate Resolution No. 29 Author: Senator Alex Parish Sponsor: Senator Chris Wooden A Resolution for Doctoral Recognition Whereas, It is medical protocol to provide a doctors note for a patient who requires time off from school/work; and Our own Pat Walker Health Center does not permit their doctors to write doctor notes; and Such a restriction poses potential academic hardship on a student who is too ill to attend class, which could be detrimental in those classes that of which factors attendance into the grade; and We, as students, pay and expect our doctors to follow protocol that is consistent with other schools and medical clinics; then That the ASG Senate request that the Pat Walker Health Center allow and encourage employed doctors to write absence notes for students who require time off from school due to medical reasons; and That these doctor notes be recognized and supported by the Pat Walker Health Center and its staff.
