CLOXACILLIN MECHANISM OF ACTION Interferes with cell wall replication of susceptible organisms; the cell wall, rendered osmotically

unstable, swells, bursts from osmotic pressure; resists the penicillinase action that inactivates penicillins. 30 min to 1 hr, increased in hepatic/ renal disease Treatment of infections due to staphylococci resistant to benzylpenicillin, including infections of the skin and soft tissues, bones, joints, endocarditis, peritonitis, pneumonia, toxic shock syndrome 250-500mg QID: 50-100mg/kg BW daily in divided doses every 6hours given atleast 30 min before meals. As prescribed by physicians History of allergy to drugs, impaired renal function Hypersensitivity reactions Cap 250 mg; cap 500mg; susp 125 mg/5ml
