1. PURPOSE :
1.1 To fill up need for manpower to meet the health needs of the patient.

2. DEFINITION:
2.1 It refers to the hiring of new staff to improve the quality of nursing care and satisfy the needs of the patient.

3. POLICY: 3.1 Recruitment of new staff is done by the Ministry of Health. 3.2 Initial assessment, evaluation and verification of credentials is directly under the Ministry of Health. 3.3 Review of the credentials, past employment experience is done by the Assistant Nursing Director / Nursing Director. 3.4 Posting of the new staff depends on department needs.

4. PROCEDURES :

4.3 One week orientation program with pre test and post test. 4.4 Unit orientation by the Head nurse where they will be assigned. 4.5 Verification of past employment by sending a letter of request to the previous work place.
