Hot Chocolate Sauce

Preparation time: 10 minutes Total cooking time: 10 minutes Serves 8 Ingredients:

250 g (8 oz) good-quality dark cooking chocolate, chopped 3/4 cup (185 ml/6 fl oz) cream 50 g (1 3/4 oz) butter 1 tablespoon golden syrup 2 tablespoons chocolate or coffee liqueur, such as Baileys, Tia Maria or Kahlua Shown here with fruit kebabs. Serve hot over ice cream, profiteroles, waffles, pancakes, poached fruit or puddings

Method of Preparation : 1.

Place the chocolate, cream, butter and syrup in a pan and stir over low heat until the mixture is smooth. Stir in the liquer and serve hot or cold.

Note: Store for up to 1 month in the fridge and reheat gently to serve. Add a little more cream if slightly grainy. NUTRITION PER SERVE: Protein 2 g; Fat 24 g; Carbohydrate 25 g; Dietary Fibre 0 g; Cholesterol 47 mg; 1360 kJ (325 cal)
