Printing

All computers in the library are connected to a printer. You may only print during class time for academic purposes. Always ask permission first.

Using the Electronic Library Catalogue

On each computer, the homepage is the Library Catalog, called the OPAC. Search for materials by keyword, subject, or author. Write the call number on a piece of paper. Its the books address.

There are three main types of books in the Library:

Fiction

Nonfiction

Reference

Fiction
Fiction is organized alphabetically by the authors last name. For example, the call letters on the spine of Bless Me, Ultima, by Rudolfo Anaya, will look something like this: FIC
Ana

In this library, the fiction books are located on the shelves along the three walls. There is a Story Collection at the end of fiction, which has anthologies of short stories.

Nonfiction
All nonfiction books in the library have a Dewey Decimal System number. You need to know the call number to find a book: the Dewey number plus (usually) the first three letters of the authors last name. For example, the call number for Seven Wonders of Ancient Greece, by Michael Woods looks like this: 938
WOO

Nonfiction books are located on the four isles, starting from the left.
