Dearly Beloved of God,

I send you greetings in the Name of Jesus Our Lord during this New
Year.
This news letter remains the first for this year and as a Fellowship we
welcomed the New Year during our well attended watch Night service
on the 31st December 2012. Our Carol service during the first week in December 2012 too
was well attended with our Fellowship joining with the Wellington Tamil Society members
for the first time in many years.
We can only thank God for his mercies, which endures forever.
As we have now stepped into another year we are bound to encounter many challenges in
our day to day life whether spiritual or otherwise. But as a child of the Most High God we
must face them. Gods help is at hand in every situation and every challenge that we face.
Psalmist said I waited patiently for the Lord, and he heard my cry for help Psalm 40:1
God listens closely for our call for help to face the challenges that we encounter as a
mother hears the cry of her newborn. God with his powerful hand will render us the help
that we need at times of challenge and need. He wants to hear our voice calling out to him
for help. He simply wants his children to trust and seek him in every such situation.
As we put our implicit trust in our Saviour he is available to hear you, help you and provide
to you all our needs in order that we may overcome every challenge that we face.
Thank God we have a saviour who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we
ask or think according to the power that work in us- (Eph: 3:20)
May this year be a blessed one for all of you and it is my prayer that our spiritual growth
throughout this year will see many unsaved and backslidden souls are touched and blessed
by what we do for his Kingdom sake.
May the Name of Jesus be glorified. Blessings!

JUST AS I AM Charlotte Elliott

Often we feel that if only we were in different circumstances or had some special talent, we
could be a better witness for God and serve Him more effectively. This particular hymn was
written by a bedridden invalid who felt useless to anything except express her feelings of
devotion to God. Yet Charlotte Elliotts simply worded text has influenced more people for
Christ than any hymn ever written or perhaps any sermon ever preached.
As a young person in Brighton, England, Miss Elliott was known as carefree Charlotte.
She was a popular portrait artist and a writer of humorous verse. At the age of thirty,
however a serious ailment made her an invalid for life. She became listless and depressed
until a well known Swiss Evangelist, Dr. Cesar Malan, visited her. Sensing her spiritual
distress, he exclaimed Charlotte, you must come just as you are- a sinner- to the Lamb of
God who takes away the sins of the World. Immediately placing her complete trust in
Christs redemptive sacrifice for her, Charlotte experienced inner peace and joy in spite of
her, physical affliction until her death at the age of eighty-two.
Charlotte Elliott wrote approximately one hundred and fifty hymns throughout her lifetime;
today she is considered to be one of the finest of all English hymn writers. God sees, God
guards, God guides me she said. His grace surrounds me and His voice continually bids
me to be happy and holy in His service-just where I am.

A minister was walking to church one morning when he passed one of his members
working in his garden. "Can't you hear those bells calling you to church?" asked the
minister.
"Eh, what's that?" said the member.
"Can't you hear those bells calling you to church?"
"I'm afraid you'll have to speak a little louder!" said the member.
"CAN'T YOU HEAR THOSE BELLS CALLING YOU TO CHURCH?!"
shouted the minister.
"I'm sorry," said the member, "I can't hear you because of those darned
BELLS!"
