Teacher: Professor Reilly Lesson plan title: Presenting Cities of France - Day 1 State Standards: 1.1, 1.2, 2.2, 3.1 Unit objectives: Students will gain and express cultural knowledge in the target language. Lesson Objectives:Students will be able to understand a presentation in the target language and gather information.
Introduction, Set Induction, or Anticipatory Set Lesson Procedures Students will be asked to pinpoint France on a map of Europe in the target language. Students will be asked to pinpoint Paris on a map of France in the target language. Students will name various cities in France. 1- Students will receive a worksheet with questions about Paris 2- In groups, students will listen to a presentation on Paris and gather information using the Paris worksheet. 3- Students will have to place Paris on their blank maps of France. 4- As a whole class, students will present their findings in the target language. 5- Students will receive worksheet with the presentation script. Students will identify all the verbs in the past tense using their previous knowledge 6- Students will write a short presentation about a local town in the target language using the script as a model and using the past tense. 7- Volunteers will present their local town to the class. Students will pay attention to the presentation. Students will participate using the target language. Students' behavior will be monitored by the teacher. 1- Students will receive instructions concerning their group projects and a document with the details of that project. 2- Teacher will answer potential questions. 3- For homework, students will start their research. - Students will be assessed by the teacher during their group work. The teacher will keep track of every students participation and involvement. - Students with IEP will receive modified worksheets with multiple choice responses. - Gifted students will receive modified worksheets with more complex questions - Projector/Smartboard - Map of Europe - Map of France - Projector/Smartboard - Paris presentation - Blank map of France - Paris worksheet - Presentation script - Pen and paper
