Pay close attention to what the Resource Teacher does in relation to assessment. To hit my Target, I will work my way through these steps:

Step 1. I will review the principles of assessment of learning on pp. 114-122 of Principles of Teaching, 2007 by Corpuz, B. and G. Salandanan and Assessment of Learning 2, 2007 Santos, Rosita, pp. Step 2. I7-22.observe 2 different classes and interview my will Resource Teachers for principle # 8. Step 3. I will identify evidence of applications of the principles of assessment of learning. I may cite more than one evidence per principle of assessment. Step 4. Guided by a question/questions. I will reflect on my experience. Write down my reflection.

My Tools As I observe a class, I will use the Observation Sheet for a more focused observation. OBSERVATION SHEET Name of School: Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College School Address: St. John, Guimba, Nueva Ecija Date of Visit: December 10, 2012 Year Level: Wisdom-IV Subject Area: Mathematics Principles of Learning Assessment 1. Assessment is an integral part of the teaching-learning process. 2. Assessment tool/activity should match with performance objective. Teaching Behavior of the Teacher/Learning Behavior of the Learner as Proof of the Application of the Principle of Learning It means assessment is the key of the learning process it is a way to explore how far the learning is attained by the students. In order to attain your learning objectives, the teachers assessment tool must anchored and match with the teachers objectives. Solving math problems by applying theorems and math principles. Transparency of grades is very important for students for them to know and measure their understanding to the lesson. It helps them to assess themselves how much effort they needed for them to pass. Considering the strengths and weaknesses of the students in terms of their intelligences and individual differences helps the teacher to find more effective strategies and to apply appropriate assessment for the learners Positive feedbacks given by the teacher create a good relationship in classroom. It motivates the students not to be afraid in sharing their ideas on the given topic. Reflecting and evaluating yourself from the previous strategies use and assessing its effectiveness helps a lot in finding or choosing the best way to teach you students. The purpose of assessment must always be positive for the learners; teachers must not use it for punishment. Application is more important rather than facts; the manifestation of learning is the students applications of the facts theyve learn in solving real word or reality based problems. The teacher practice keeping accurate records and communicate them to parents in the best mean way possible. Records of the students progress were sent to the parents quarterly or every grading period.

3. The results of assessment must be feedback to the learners.

4. Teachers must consider learners learning styles and multiple intelligences and so come up with a variety of ways of assessing learning. 5. Give some positive feedback with not so good ones. 6. Emphasize on self assessment.

7. Assessment of learning should never be used as punishment or as disciplinary measure. 8. Emphasize on real world application that favors realistic performances over out-of-context drills. 9. Results of learning assessment must be communicated regularly to parents.

My Analysis What are the possible consequences on the teaching-learning process if each of the principles is not observed? Principle of Learning Assessment Possible Consequence if Principle is NOT Observed 1. Assessment is an integral part of the Students were not able to know how far is teaching-learning process. the learning they acquired and which topic needs to emphasize. My Reflection As a student, do I remember any incident when any of these principles was or were violated by my teacher? How did it affect my classmates and me?

I remember when I was first year high school one of my teacher in math gave a quiz containing ten items. Only ten among fifty students got more than haft of the given quiz. Our teacher got angry when he saw our scores, luckily I pass the quiz but those students who failed were punished. They jog on the gym wearing their failing scores. I was shock because even my girl classmates were punished. After the punishment I saw my other classmates crying, I felt pity to them but I cannot do anything to make them feel good. This incident creates a bad impression to the teacher, most of my classmates are afraid to attend to her class because of her behavior. Every time we enter in her class I always pray that she will not give quiz because we are afraid of the punishment.
