The Medi-Pump aspirator was created for home care use. It was designed with a high performance vacuum pump. That results in strong suction with shorter vacuum level recovery times. The device has a built in vacuum regulator and gauge in a non-rusting base. The jar holder will accomodate a 800cc size glass collection jar. (P/N 624380)

1 Be sure that the power switch is in the off (down) position. Plug in the device and turn the switch to the ON ( up ) position.

1 Set the device on a level, sturdy surface so the controls can be easily reached and adjusted.

NOTE: This procedure should be performed each time you use this device.

Connect one end of the tubing to the lid vacuum port.

Your physician will have prescribed the use of a special vacuum tool to aid suction. Push this tool onto the 6 foot long patient tubing as instructed by your qualied health care professional.

Set the vacuum level by turning the regulator knob counter-clockwise to increase vacuum or clockwise to decrease vacuum.

Block the patient tube leading from the collection jar and allow the gauge to reach a stable vacuum level.

1 Asegrese de que el interruptor de alimentacin est en la posicin de apagado (bajada). Limpieza del dispositivo

1 Asegrese de que el interruptor de encendido/apagado est en la posicin de apagado (bajada). Desenchufe el dispositivo de la toma de la pared y deje que disminuya el nivel de succin.

NOTA

El recipiente de recogida debe vaciarse cada vez que se use.

Quite el tubo del paciente del oricio de vaco de la tapa. Es necesario limpiar el tubo cada vez que se use. Lmpielo con agua corriente caliente. Remoje en una solucin de una parte de vinagre a tres partes agua caliente durante 20 minutos. Enjuague con agua corriente caliente y deje que se seque al aire. Quite el codo de la tapa del recipiente de recogida.

El recipiente, la tapa, la empaquetadura ni el tubo en el lavaplatos.

Cleaning the Device

Make sure the ON/OFF switch is in the OFF (down) position.

The collection jar must be emptied after each use.

Limpie el recipiente, la empaquetadura, la tapa y el tubo en una solucin de agua caliente y detergente de lavaplatos y enjuguelos con agua corriente caliente. Remoje en una solucin de una parte de vinagre a tres partes agua caliente durante 20 minutos. Enjuague con agua corriente caliente y deje que se seque al aire.

No sumerja nunca este dispositivo en agua. Pngalo debajo de agua corriente o roce con agua u otros lquidos. Esto daar el dispositivo.

Remove the patient tubing from the lid vacuum port. Tubing must be cleaned after every use. Run hot tap water through it. Soak in a solution of one part vinegar to three parts hot water for 20 minutes. Rinse with hot tap water and air dry.

Unplug the device from the wall outlet and allow suction level to drop.

Remove the tubing from the top of the jar lid.

Remove the jar and lid assembly from the holder. Place on a rm, at surface. Lift the lid and remove from the jar.

Wash the jar, lid and tube in a hot water/dishwashing detergeant solution and rinse with hot tap water. Soak in a solution of one part vinegar to three parts hot water for 20 minutes. Rinse with hot tap water and air dry.

Never submerge this device in water, hold under running water or spray with water or other liquids. This will result in damage to the device.

Wipe the outside of the case with a clean, damp cloth after each use.

Mufer and Filter Replacement

Mufer Replacement

Change the lter whenever foreign material is drawn into it or if you notice a reduction in vacuum level.

Hydrophobic Filter Replacement

The mufer should be replaced every three months or if contaminated. See page 10, items 20 and 21.

Push the 10 tubing onto the barbed tting on top of the lter.

With the inlet facing down, push the new lter onto the 2 inch plastic tubing from the regulator port.

Gently pull the hydrophobic lter off of the 2 inch piece of plastic tubing from the regulator inlet port.

Disconnect the 10tubing from the barbed tting on the top of the lter.

Screw the mufer cover back into the mufer tting.

Lift out the old mufer with a tweezers and replace with the new mufer.

Grasp the mufer cover rmly and unscrew it.

If the mufer cover is dusty or clogged, hold it under running tap water to clean. Air dry.

Note

The hydrophobic lter is designed to prevent foreign material from being drawn into the device. Operating it without the hydrophobic lter may allow uids to enter the device causing damage to its internal components.

Reemplazo del silenciador y ltro

Reemplazo del silenciador
El silenciador debe reemplazarse cada tres meses o si est contaminado. Vea la pgina 10, Figura 2, componentes 20 y 21.

Nota

1 Agarre rmemente la tapa del silenciador y desatornllela. 2 Levante y saque el silenciador viejo con unas pinzas y reemplace por el silenciador nuevo. 3 Vuelva a atornillar la tapa del silenciador en la conexin del silenciador.

Si la tapa del silenciador tiene polvo o est obstruida, pngala debajo de un chorro de agua corriente para limpiarla. Deje que se seque al aire.

Precaucin

Reemplazo del ltro hidrfobo

Cambie el ltro siempre que haya materias extraas en el mismo o si observa una reduccin en el nivel de vaco.

1 Desconecte el tubo de 10 de la conexin arponada en la parte de arriba del ltro. 2 Quite suavemente el ltro hidrfobo del tubo de plstico de 2 del oricio de entrada del regulador. 3 Con el entrada de aire apuntando hacia abajo, empuje el ltro nuevo en el tubo plstico de 2 del oricio del regulador. 4 Empuje el tubo de 10 en la conexin arponada en la parte de arriba del ltro.

El ltro hidrfobo est diseado para impedir que haya materias extraas en el dispositivo. Al operarlo sin el ltro hidrfobo, puede permitirse la entrada de uidos en el dispositivo, produciendo daos en sus componentes internos.

Localizacin y resolucin de problemas

1 Filtro hidrfobo obstruido. 2 Regulador jado indebidamente. 3 Fuga de aire. 4 La tapa o empaquetadura del recipiente no est bien sujeta al mismo.

2 Fusible o disyuntor fundido en circuito casero. 3 Bajo voltaje al dispositivo.

1 Desenchufe el dispositivo y deje que se enfre durante 10 minutos. Enchufe y vuelva a poner en marcha. 2 Reemplace el fusible o reajuste el disyuntor. 3 Hay demasiados aparatos motorizados conectados al mismo circuito.

Symptoms

Reduced/low vacuum.

1 Clogged hydrophobic lter.

Possible Causes

1 Replace the lter following directions in this manual. 2 Set regulator vacuum level following operating instructions. 3 Check the tubing and connectors for possible leaks. Attach, tighten, or replace. 4 Be sure the jar and lid t tightly on the jar.
