Optional Board and Module UTRP: Universal Transmission Processing unit; UTRP has several types. VIVO just use UTRP3 (Iub ATM Interface Unit for eight E1s) and UTRP4 (Iub IP interface unit for eight E1s) while the transmission ports provided by GTMU and WMPT are not enough . UBRI: Universal Baseband Radio Interference board (providing 6 additional CPRI ports for GSM. It need be configured while MRRU and MRFU exist in the same BBU3900, or while MRRU or MRFU are more than 6pcs respectively. UEIU: Universal Environment Interface Unit (providing 2 RS485 and 8 dry knots alarming input); Its configured while BBU3900 need monitor more than 8 dry knots alarm. RRU3908 V2 can be used for:
1) New 850M GSM sites;

2) 850M GSM cabinet expansion sites; The swapped 850M module will be taken out for others GSM850M TRX expansion sites, and the BTS3012AE cabinet will be reused to insert MRFU1800 module. 3) 850M UMTS sites; The swapped 850M module will be taken out for others GSM850M TRX Expansion sites , and the BTS3012AE cabinet will be reused to insert MRFU1800 module. Note: While we use RRU3908, if the action is UMTS new site or 2nd carrier expansion, we deliver WMPT and GTMU together to the site. If the action is GSM expansion, we deliver only GTMU to the site. Two optical fiber per RRU3908 will be delivered to sites (one connecting with GTMU for GSM; another connecting with WBBP for UMTS sooner or later)

RRU Expansion Step Overview

The following slides uniform all RRUs expansion scenarios including GSM850/1800/1900 & UMTS850/2100 except GSM900 in VIVO GU project. (Because GSM900 is independent site in our solution) Basic Principle: 1) In 5 states, new RRU should be powered by APM30/APM30H at first (6~8RRUs in maximum), then by restructured BTS3012AE (6RRUs in maximum) . Outdoor Case 1: Original situation is BTS3012AE + APM30 (old APM30). Case2: Original situation is BTS3012AE. Case3: Original situation is no any equipment. Indoor Case4: Original situation is 19 rack. 2) In NE, RRU3908/RRU3008 should be powered by APM30/APM30H, and only 3RRU3801C or RRU3804 or RRU3806 (2100M) can be powered by BTS3012AE (no restructure). Notes: MRFU implement does not impact RRU expansion step, so it isnt mentioned here.
