Detail Description or Construction

Type ALT/SAE is a exible insulated single conductor composed by bunch-stranded bare annealed copper wires, cord has a thermoplastic insulation of PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). Designed to operate at not more than 60VDC or 25VAC, ALT/SAE is manufactured in gauges from 20 AWG up to 10AWG and available colors are black, white, red, blue and green.

Standards / Testing Specications ALT/SAE conductors have been designed

according to ASTM B3, B174, UL 1581 and SAE J-1128 specications.

PHELPS DODGE ALT/SAE (SIZE) AWG ((SIZE) mm) 60V DC (25V AC).

Installation
ALT/SAE conductors have been manufactured to operate in low voltage automotive electrical systems, feeding lighting, control and indication lights. Also it could be used in control panels.

Application
This product was designed especially for automotive wiring it can operate at 90C of temperature inside the conductor in dry conditions and at 75C in wet conditions. Thermoplastic insulation of PVC does not propagate the re and provides resistance to common high temperatures in these applications.
