Feasibility Study Project Questionnaire

1. What is the purpose of the project?  What question do you want to answer or
problem do you want to solve?  Who will benefit from a report that offers a
solution or answer?
• The purpose of my project is to discover which PA (Physician Assistant) school is
best for this person. This includes cost, location and criteria for acceptance.
• I want to solve the problem of deciding and identifying the best school for this
person to attend as well as if this profession is what she wants.
• My friend, Alisa, will benefit from this report as she is graduating next year and is
currently seeking PA schools.
2. Will the research needed to answer the question or solve the problem warrant your
conducting at least three interviews and using one other research method?
Explain.  (If the answer is no, the project isn’t complex enough, so you’ll have to
go back to the drawing board).
• Yes, I will need to interview people in PA school as well as admission and
possibly advisors or professors related in that field. This will give me some insight
and various information regarding the profession and curriculum. I would also
need to research the job outlook, wage and personal opinions about the nature of
the career.
3. Can you do enough research to answer the question and make recommendations
during this semester? (If the answer is no, you have probably identified a project
too large or complex to be completed on time.  If it is too large, can you modify it?
If you can’t, then you probably need to reconsider your project.)
• Yes, I believe that I can do enough research to answer the question and make
recommendations during the semester.
4. Who is the person (decision maker) who will receive your report and
recommendations with your suggested answer to the question?  A decision maker
is a person with the responsibility, authority and resources to accept or reject your
recommendations.
My friend Alisa.

1. What is that person’s position or role?
Alisa is a nutrition student thinking about attending PA school.

2. What is your relationship with the decision maker?
I am her friend.
5. What kinds of information will you need to gather?
I will need to gather various information including: the cost of the different schools, the
location, the criteria, past or present PA student opinions, the job outlook, the wage and
the overall nature of the career.

6. What would be the best methods for gathering that information?
I think the best methods of gathering information, besides interviews, are online tools that
rank different schools, books or magazines that talk about PA career and school
programs.

7. You will need to conduct at least three interviews as you complete your research.
Who could you talk to?  How will they help you answer the question and make
recommendations?
• Advisor/Professor: Discuss their experience, ideas and/or possible places that
have great programs. Also, they could probably tell the a little bit about the nature
of being a PA and what schools may be looking for when they are looking at
prospective students.

• Current/Past PA Student: They can tell me about the courses (in their particular
school), as a student going through it, the living expenses as well as their
opinions on the program and overall profession.

• Admissions: They can tell me about tuition cost, program/curriculum,

comparison to other schools, and what they expect in prospective students.

8. Do you have any questions about the feasibility study?
I would like to know how interviews should be conducted.
