Instructions to Solve Tantrix Puzzle

You will need a flat surface and some patience. Read each step completely through before starting. To get the first piece out, put your pointer finger, palm up, through one of the metal holders so that your finger is underneath the piece, and put your thumb (of the same hand) on the top of the holder. Hold the base with your other hand. Push up on the piece with your finger. Dont be too worried about breaking it since the pieces are pretty solid. Take out the first three (3) pieces, one at a time. 2. Find the piece labeled 3 on the back side. 3. Notice the color of the number (in this case yellow). This color corresponds to the color of the lines on the puzzle you will be able to solve with this number of pieces. 4. Put the pieces together so that the yellow lines create a continuous loop. 5. Congratulations! Youve solved the first puzzle! You are going to have to rearrange all of the pieces to solve the next puzzle. 6. Take out the fourth (4th) piece and check the color of the number on the back (red). 7. Put the pieces together so that the red line is a continuous loop. 8. Any other lines on the pieces that touch each other must be the same color (blue touches blue, yellow touches yellow, and later on red touches red). This is a requirement for all of the puzzles. 9. Continue adding pieces one at a time, solving the puzzle for the color indicated on the highest numbered piece in play. You are free to rearrange all of the pieces at any time. 10. When you have all ten pieces in play, you can solve the puzzle with all three (3) colors. 11. If you flip the wooden holder over, you will find a table showing the number of tiles, the color to solve for, and a typical time to solve the puzzle.

When putting the puzzle away, put the pieces down in reverse numerical order (with 10 on the bottom, 9 on top of 10, 8 on 9, etc.) The last pieces will need to be gently forced into the holder, in the same way you took them out.
