    Choosealocationforthereceiverthatisashighaspossibleandinplainviewofthestudentsclickers. Tominimizeinterferencefromotherradiofrequencyequipment,positionthereceiverinan unobstructedlocationawayfromotherwirelessproducts,suchasrouters,microwaveovensand cordlesstelephones.

    ToconnecttheSMARTResponsereceiver:
    ConnectthereceiversUSBcabletoyourcomputer.SMARTResponsesoftwareautomaticallyactivates whenyouconnectyourSMARTResponsereceiver. SelectingtheSMARTResponsemode: 1. ThefirsttimeyoupluginyourreceiversUSBcable,theSMARTResponseSetupToolappears. 2. SelecttheSMARTResponseLEmode,andthenclickOK. 3. TochangethemodefromLE(primarygradelevel)toPE(intermediategradelevel),clickthe small,yellowSMARTResponseiconinthelowerrightcornerofyourscreen.SelectSetupTool andthenselecteitherLEorPEmode.Mostteacherswillnotbeswitchingbetweenthetwo modes. UsingtheSMARTResponsesystem: 1. BeforeyoucanusetheSMARTResponseLEsystem,youmust: a. Assignaclassroomnametothereceiver b. Pairthestudentsclickerswiththereceiver 2. Toassignaclassroomnametoyourreceiver a. ClicktheSMARTResponseiconinthelowerrightcornerofyourscreen. b. ClicktheiconbelowTeacherTools.TheWelcometoTeacherToolswindowappears. c. TypeaclassroomnameofonetoeightcharactersandthenclickSave(Note:TheSave buttonisunavailableuntilyouprovidetheClassroomname.Theotherinformationis optional. d. TheSaveAsdialogboxappears. e. SelectalocationwhereyouwanttosavethefileandthenclickSave.TheGradebook windowappearsdisplayingtheteachersname.Ifyoudidnotprovideateachername instep2,defaultnameappears. Pairingthestudentsclickers: Important:Youmuststartaclassbeforeyoucanpairtheclickerswiththereceiver. 1. Ifaclassisnotrunning,clicktheSMARTResponseiconinthelowerrightcornertothescreen. a. TodisplayareplicaoftheLESMARTResponsedevice,clickVisualReference. b. ClicktheiconbelowTeacherTools. 2. ClickAnonymousModeintheleftcolumn,andthenclickStartClasstotheright.

    3. PresstheclickersPowerandHomebuttonssimultaneouslyfortwosecondsTeacherMode appearsontheclickersscreen. 4. SelectScan&PickusingtheclickersUpandDownbuttons,andthenpresstheEnterbuttona Findingclassesmessageappearswhiletheclickersearchesforavailableclassrooms. 5. SelectyourclassroomnamefromthelistandthenpresstheEnterbutton.Ifyourconnectionis successful,aPairedWithRCVmessageappears. 6. SelectClickerID>useleftarrowkeystomoveupordowntoselectnextavailableunassigned IDnumber>pressEnter. 7. PresstheclickersPowerbuttontheclickerturnsoffandisnowpairedwiththereceiver. 8. Repeatsteps3through6fortherestofyourclickers.
