Never Be Forgotten: The Bataan Death March

All we’re asking for is a Day, April 9th

to be Exact
On April 9th 1942, the long journey for
the American POW’s in Japan ended
and the casualties stopped. Through
strength, family, and faith some very
brave men were able to conquer the
Japanese Hell Ships and Prison Camps
such as Camp O’Donnell and survive
the horrific marches up the Bataan
Peninsula.
Survivors such as: Lester Tenney
and Harold Poole live to tell their
tales of survival, as well as the
saddening tales of others.
The government threatens to rip
this important event from our history,
as Japan attempts to cleanse theirs.
For the Families, survivors, and
those who perished in the horrific
events, their stories will never die,
even after those witnesses have
already passed on.
Smiles, Hugs, Friends, Valentines
and the Holocaust have days to
themselves and events like the
Holocaust will not be forgotten
because of those days.
All we ask for is a day for Bataan, a
Day of remembrance for the
reassurance that it will be counted in
our history and remembered forever.
April 9th = Bataan Remembrance
Day
