Data Collection Sources

This Internal Assessment consists of data collected from both primary and secondary sources. The secondary sources included both books along with several internet articles. These sources enabled me to get a better understanding of the topic and to obtain statistics which added credibility and reliability to my research. I was also able to gain the opinion of a wide range of both men and women in relation to the topic of gender discrimination in the workplace. A questionnaire was used as the primary source of data collection. The questionnaire consisted of 19 questions some of which were close ended and some open ended. _____ Questionnaires were given out on ______ and collected on______. Stratified random sampling was the method used in the distribution of my questionnaires as it was given to the working women in my community. The advantages of using such a research method are that confidentiality of the respondents are maintained which result in a better chance of acquiring the truth and the inclusion of open ended questions allowed for the respondents to volunteer their opinion freely and without special considerations. Although the use of the questionnaire held many advantages there were also some limitations. One such limitation is the fact that the facial expression of the respondents was not able to be read which would have added genuineness to the responses.
