Amara Raja manufactures VRLA industrial baeries under brands Powerstack and Quanta used by industries like telecom, power ulies, railways, defence and other heavy industries. The company manufactures a range of automove baeries for LCVs, SUVs, MUVs, three wheelers, and home inverters. These include brands like Amaron Hi-life, Amaron Harvest, Amaron PRO and Amaron Shield among others. The company carries out retail of its automove baeries in urban areas through its retail format Amaron Pitstops and in rural & semi-urban areas through PowerZone which was launched in May 2007. As on Mar 31, 2008 the company had 120 Amaron Pitstops and 400 PowerZone outlets. Amara Raja operates one plant at Tirupa in AP which has an annual installed capacity 5.8 mn baeries. For FY08, the producon of automove baeries increased by 35% and that of industrial baeries increased by 40% over FY07. In FY08, the companys exports grew y-o-y by 40%, with exports made to, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Kuwait, Oman, Thailand, UAE and some West African countries. During 2008, the company also launched the new look Amaron range with Amaron black and Flo baeries.
