Dear ALL
The Scottish Pelvic Floor Network (SPFN), a multidisplinary group incorporating most gynaecology
units and a number of urology units in Scotland, is planning its Annual Scientific Meeting on the 29th
May 2009 in the Dunkeld Hilton Hotel, Perthshire
The program is planned to be of high educational value, covering a number of important and timely topics
in gynaecology and urology:
o Assessment & management of stress urinary incontinence in women.
o Assessment & management of overactive bladder symptoms in men & women
o Assessment & management of pelvic floor prolapse
o Assessment & management of female sexual dysfunction.
The speakers are nationally & internationally recognised opinion leaders from England & Scotland in
addition to a possible international speaker from USA (enclosed is the provisional program pending
confirmation from speakers). We have previously arranged a similar meeting in 2007 in Stirling; the
attendance was excellent and the feed back was very encouraging regarding the educational value as well
as the desire of regularity of such meetings.
The SPFN would like to offer the Obstetrics & Gynaecology trainees & Urology trainees in
Scotland the opportunity to attend this years’ meeting free of charge and you are all cordially
invited. The final program will be sent out soon with invitations and you will be asked to reply to confirm
a place.
The SPFN would also like to offer 2 Obstetrics & Gynaecology & 2 Urology trainees in Scotland the
opportunity to present an urogynaecology research/ audit work that they have recently done. If you
would like to present your work please email me an abstract of max 2 A4 pages indicating the authors,
aims & objectives, Methods, Results & Conclusion. This will be anonymously reviewed by 2 members of
the SPFN and those with highest scores will be podium presentations in the meeting.
