5. How did you attract/address your audience?

Firstly, I address my audience by capitalising on elements of interest that I discovered whilst conducting my research, elements such as their favourite bands, interests and gigs. For my front cover, I attempted to attract my audience by using a bold title in order for my magazine to stand out. The name SAINT itself stands out, is bold and doesnt fit into the crowd- which I knew would be perfect for my indie clich market.

I also then, used a good, clear, black and white image of my model as the centre piece for my magazine, this was going to be the element of my magazine that would most stand out to my audience- so I needed to make sure that it was perfect. Originally this image, was a mid-shot, but once I knew I wanted it located on the front of my magazine I realised that I needed more focus on the eyes- therefore I choose to resize it into an extreme close up. Following this, I knew adding a thing (0.5mm) border round the edge of the photo to ensure that it stood out to my audience.

To make sure that my audience were incised to the music in my magazine, I made sure that I would list a couple of bands in the subheading underneath the main artist Bella. Through my research I was aware of some of the main bands, along with the smaller bands that were tearing up the indie scene.

For my contents page, I included information that I also found out during my research. This information included where people were thinking about going: gig and festival wise, their favourite bands, up and coming bands and dilemas over what shoes to wear to a gig. All this information I tried to put, with my spin on it, into my contents page, as I knew this is something my target audience would be interested in.
