DELIVERY OF FARM TOOLS TO CoCoPal FARMER LEADERS IN DAVAO ORIENTAL

CIDAMI Staff went on field for farm tools delivery on January 24, 2013. CEFs and CFLs were there to receive the farm tools for their learning sites. Each of the twenty nine CFLs (29) CoCoPal farmer leaders from four different municipalities of Davao Oriental (Banay Banay, Lupon, San Isidro and Mati received their requested farm tools from CIDAMI. Farm tools such as knapsack sprayer, water drums, pruning shear, pruning saw, budding knife, water hose, sleeving pole, polythelene bags, fertilizers like complete, foliars, nursery net, shovels, digging bars, cocoa seedlings and big bolo knives. Each of the CEF agreed to have a place for a dropping point where they can receive and retrieve the delivered farm materials. The farm materials received by the CoCoPal Farmer Leaders were part of the support given by ACDI/VOCA through CIDAMi for their training and extension activities. CoCoPal Farmer leaders have been conducting Farmer Field School in their respective areas. CFLs were obliged to give lectures to fifty (50) farmers once a month and have to finish the ACDI/VOCA CoCoPal Farming System Module for 8 months. Taught in the FFS was a lecture on farming systems of Coconut, Cocoa and Palayamanan or rice farming. Those farm materials provided by CIDAMI with the support from ACDI/VOCA will be used in their learning sites, since every CFLs needs to establish a learning site which is the venue for their Farmer Field School Classes. The CoCoPal Farming System project is funded by United State Department of Agriculture, implemented by ACDI/VOCA in partnership with Cocoa Industry Development Association of Mindanao, Inc.
